The University is run by Liberals, the same people who think 9-11 was an isolated incident and that we over-reacted. They treated the first shooting as an isolated incident. They were sure they had things under control and were focused on hiring grief counselors so they could move on with the agenda...

Fighting Conservatism. When they get a new President in, he will begin demanding that the University's no-gun policy be expanded to include greater Blacksburg.

question for all the pro gun listers out there . Do you think that students at campus should be allowed to have guns for self defence . I mean if there were a considerable number of armed students then they could have got this guy earlier

Yes, Gord, they should

I just turned on the TV and there is a live report on from Virginia tech right now. I didn't hear the beginning so I don't know if they said anything about the shooter or not.

A 23 year old student, South Korean per the cop on tv. Cho Seung-Hui is his name.

South Korea gave a statement:

http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ap/world/4722400.html

SEOUL, South Korea — South Korea's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday the government hoped the Virginia Tech shootings, allegedly carried out by a 23-year-old South Korean native, would not "stir up racial prejudice or confrontation."

Late Tuesday evening in Seoul, the shooter was identified as Cho Seung-Hui, a senior in the English department, who the South Korean Foreign Ministry said had been living in the United States since 1992. Cho was the only suspect named in connection with the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history that left 33 dead.

"We are in shock beyond description," said Cho Byung-je, a ministry official handling North American affairs. "We convey deep condolences to victims, families and the American people."

The diplomat said there was no known motive for the shootings, and added that South Korea hoped that the tragedy would not "stir up racial prejudice or confrontation."

So the killer wasn’t a typical gun-crazed American after all.

What a bitter disappointment for our watchdog media.

Obviously if somebody there were armed they may have had a fighting chance. Liberals think that the gun rights of 300,000,000 people ought to be infringed as a result. I think it would be equally as logical to curtail immigration, the student exchange program, and enforce the border. Having enough wackos of our own, I would rather have my liberty than support unappreciative foreigners with an education.
Equally as logical? I can agree with that. Neither idea will fly, I'm afraid.

Who would get the guns, anyway? The pimply ROTC nerds?

Apparently we should all be carrying guns at all times. Flying, subway, in the home, school, college, work... just keep packing heat

Then everything will be alright...

No ID on the killer?

Let's see here. He was a jilted lover? Well, if they know that why don't they know who he was? That alone stinks.

No ID, fine. What about fingerprints? OK, prints not on record. Why no photo? Well he shot himself in the face. Really? How many times can you shoot yourself in the face with a 9mm to truly mutilate yourself and still live to pull the trigger again? It wasn't a shotgun sports fans and pistols don't make messes like the movies would like you to think. They cleaned the Hussein boys up in nothing flat.

But let's say that even that is true. A good police artist could have a rendering in no time at all and his mug would be around the world in a heart beat captioned, "Do you know this man?"

Something stinks.

Gonzales got out of testifying today for a few days due to it. I guess tax day wasn't a big enough distraction.

You haven't factored in escalation. If we all have pistols, the criminals will get assault rifles. If we all get assault rifles, they're get grenades. If we all get grenades, they'll just plow into a bunch of people with Hummer with a load of explosives in the trunk.

apparently ishmael is taking conspiracy lessons from oliver stone.
