Wonder if the base will bite.....

"We need to give our supporters facts that will help them put all those fantasies to rest so everyone can focus with clear minds on the issues that really matter," Christie said. "We need to quit wasting our time, our energy, and our credibility on claims that won't ever convince anyone of anything."

"All this lying has done harm to our nation, to our party, and to each other," he said, and he sought to remind the audience of the Republican Party's values, which he listed as conservatism, faith, decency, integrity, freedom, liberty, competence and truth.

somebody stick a pin in him and see if he explodes like a hot air balloon.

Denouncing conspiracy theories warrants excommunication now?! Has the GOP really degenerated that far?!

Or, is it presenting a potential primary challenge to Trump in 2024 that might get him excommunicated? That alone?

I would not bet on either Christie or Trump to be the 2024 GOP nominee.

I would not care about anyone the GOP puts forward. They're all sucking Trump's cock to get his blessing. (including Trump - who's ego is close enough)

Any predictions regarding the 2024 election are premature until after the 2022 midterms, which are still a year away. The midterms change the whole political environment.

Not being a (D) boot licker doesn't make anyone a conspiracy theorist.

Corny is too busy sucking Trump's cock to understand reality.

IL74 doesn't know what he's talking about and just seeing my name gets him fuckin' triggered, that's why he cowers behind iggy all the time.

Is there anyone you think has a better shot?

No crystal ball but my guess is it will be someone seeking the presidency for the first time. There are a few names being tossed about, including one I really like, but right now I’m focused on the midterms next year.

That would be the exception rather than the rule. The Republicans usually nominate someone who ran once before and had a good showing then. To be fair, though, I can't think of anyone plausible in that category...maybe Ted Cruz, but even most Republicans hate him.

I recall a college roommate of his remarking in an interview, "Everybody hates Ted Cruz. It's his superpower."

Yes, his freshman year roommate from Princeton has practically made a second career of trolling him. Which I would probably find a bit unfair if not for the fact that Cruz really doesn't seem to have matured at all since then.

Right Now 2024's gop nomination is trump's to lose. If he doesn't run though I doubt it'd be Christie or any of the others testing the waters in Iowa now.

Way too soon to be testing the waters -- by 2024, nobody in Iowa will even remember they were there in 2021.

I don't see how Christie will have a chance regardless of who else runs. He cooperated with Obama after Hurricane Sandy. No way the GOP's Taliban wing will forgive him for that.
