May remember me :) If so, hello again! If not, hey I'm Art ^^ At any rate, could any of you more experienced people recommend a nice yet affordable riding crop I can purchase? Thanks

Hi Art, Welcome to the Board.

For an affordable crop, go to a local tack store. You might have a "Feed & Seed" type place like Tractor Supply Company handy. But anyplace that sells saddles, bridles, horse feed, etc will have crops handy. They will be of equal or better quality to the crops you will find in "adult stores" and they will generally be half the price. And it'll be cheaper than what you'll order off the internet because ou won't have to pay shipping and handling.

If you want "cuffs" head to the tack shop again and look for "hobbles". Horses' ankles are about the same size as human wrists and ankles, and again, the quality is as good as or better than what you'll find in the "adult stores" for less money.

Hope that helps!

I'm actually heading to a tack shop in Louisville this afternoon. I'll let you know what I find.

Check Petsmart - they have horse and tack sections. I really like that they have so many crops for under $20. There's a cute little "bat" style crop for $4.99 that doesn't suck and is pretty fun. Their narrow tipped crops are about $8 or $10 if I remember correctly. They also have inexpensive dressage whips.

I remember you! Welcome back!

I'm not a crop shopper but I'm good at shopping. I'm good at a lot of things I don't like to do.

But I'm also good at some I do like to do and I get better and better at
those . . . wow, the sunset has started.

*goes to get another drink for the show*

Hi Art

There are lots of websites that sell crops plus all the pet or tack shops

As a person on the other end of it I have found they vary alot on landing.

The ones I am familiar with fall into two categories.
Ones for horses have a thicker shaft (don't ask them questions they never know the answers  ) and feel heavier when they land. The pain sort of spreads out.

The BDSM ones are often thinner and the pain sharper and more localised, similar to a thin cane.

Both types hurt.

I'll keep that in mind when selecting my crop :) Thank you, Shy

i'm mad for colours tho >.>

 red, pink, or purple would be preferable... but i've only seen really good ones at one of my fave stores (Northbound Leather) they sell high quality gear tho and custom... but like Art said the affordable factor is an issue >.> I don't think Petsmart here in my area carries them because there aren't too many horses in the area here other than the TPS's Although there is a store that carries all that stuff by my mother's place. I might ask her to drive me there sometime, cuz she already thinks I'm a freak with all my "toys and novelties" anyway. ha ha ha
