Some more computer questions...
I have just set up my Outlook Express email account. I am having a couple of problems. First, some of my messages are empty when I open them. When I open them through Comcast, my internet provider the text it there. This is only some of my emails, not all. Secondly, I am trying to set up my AIM account through Outlook. When I go to "tools" I see AIM there, but you can not click on it. Please help!

Shut down Outlook Express before it's too late. It's the Internet's version of the Gateway to Hell.

Someone will be along soon to explain that in more detail I'm sure.

A couple of questions for you:

1st: When you mention "opening the messages", are you talking about double-clicking the message so it opens into a new window, or are you talking about the auto-preview (which displays the message in the same window as your Inbox)?

2nd: Your Comcast e-mail... is it through a "program" on your computer, or is it web-based e-mail which you log into the Comcast website to retrieve it?

These answers will help with solving your first problem. Thanks!

First thing that comes to mind is: Do you have AIM running while you have OE open and are looking for the option on the Tools menu? Try that, and let me know if you notice a difference.

I turned off the autopreview so I mean when I double click. The box opens, but does not have any text other then the name of sender etc... I log onto comcast to retrieve my mail, so I guess that it web based?

I tried both. No luck.

Technically, it's "unsafe" because it is one of the most popular mail programs in use. This makes it the target for e-mail viruses (virii ? ;) ) So many/most of the new e-mail viruses that are being created, are being written to take advantage of the code in Outlook Express' programming. If you have one of the mainstream Anti-Virus programs (I suggest Norton), then you don't have to worry.

As far as it's stability... I have never had a problem with it, so I cannot comment.
