Solve My Problem

God is telling this heathen to stop drinking the devil's brew, start walking the straight and narrow, and no more ass-wrangling with Thelma down at the Stop and Pop.

All City Appliance Repair...for $65 he replaced some part or another, unfroze the fan and checked a couple other things...you're way the hell out in the sticks so he may charge a trip charge...

Well, if his ass will hurry, he can have some kind of cold beer as a tip.

I'm pissed about this. I've had three May Tag appliances. All have broke within the past couple of years.

And the old Maytag iron keeps on rolling. If I was buying new Maytag, it would be Maytag blue cheese.

Get a vacuum and try cleaning off the fan and the coils. If they get bunged up with dust and dirt, the motor can stop. Should do it regularly, every six months or so.

If it still doesn't work...I dunno. New fridge I guess.

I'm going to spread fertilizer.

If someone wants to buy my refrigerator, tell them I'll take no less than 700 dollars.

If somebody finds one on craigslist for around 200, let TraceElement know and he can pick it up in his truck and bring it to me.

No checks.

The Elemental truck is no more...well, it is now my son's...and it is currently at the local Mr. Fixit...who actually did about $800 or so worth of work for $230...there is a reason I try to stay local...

Quick get a cooler put as much beer in said cooler as possible and fill with all available ice, place, if possible back in frig(double insulation). Now open one beer and relax while, waiting for sale on refrigerators or called repairman. Wait about twenty minutes repeat beer opening and ponder situation.
Good Luck in your time of deep stress.

Oh wait, you have a house too, please refer to post #43.

Good thread. I hope it sticks.

This is where you get your fix from Lit.

My beer fridge in the garage just stopped. Lights come on, but no running sound.

What should I do?

Post your problem, get an answer.

My apologies for a delayed response Mr. JAJ. The National Beer Drinker's Association (NBDA) has just informed me of your situation. Live chat assist is only available for beer amber alerts where beer has been kidnapped or considered MIA.

NBDA recommends the following:

1. Do not panic. Do not open the garage fridge to preserve the coldness of your beer.

2. Proceed to the kitchen fridge and remove all non-essentials. Then transfer the beer from the garage fridge. And do so in a calm, expedient manner.

3. Once assured the quality of your beer is preserved in the kitchen fridge, go back to the garage fridge and unplug it. Wait one hour as we are certain the compressor has over heated and needs to cool down. Then re-plug it.

4. If the garage fridge still does not work, we recommend tapping the fridge at regular intervals, with a hammer, until you reach the point of beating the shit out of it.

5. If you're garage fridge is still on the blink after the above steps, then proceed to find another replacement via garage sale or craigslist.

The NBDA is happy to assist in matters of such importance. We fully realize it's beer-thirty or 5 O'clock somewhere. If you need assistance in getting rid of your beer before the quality is compromised, someone here will gladly assist you. We look forward to your membership dues in the near future.
