The past few weeks we have heard enough artist writing anti-war songs. I don't want to sound like a war monger but we have given "Peace a Chance". Now it s time to pay the piper. If you were an enlisted soldier what songs would you want to hear to motivate yourself to get the job done, to psyche yourself up?

American girls and American guys will always stand up and salute;
Will always recognize
When we see ol' glory flying,
There's a lot of men dead,
So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our head.

My daddy served in the army,
Where he lost his right eye.
But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died.
He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me
To grow up and live happy in the land of the free.

Now this nation that I love has fallen under attack.
A mighty sucker punch came flying in from somewhere in the back.
Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye,
Man we lit up your world like the Fourth of July.

Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly,
And there's gonna be Hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell!
It's gonna feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you...
Brought to you courtesy of the Red, White and Blue!

Oh, Justice will be served and the battle will rage.
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage
You'll be sorry that you messed with the US of A
'Cuz we'll put a boot in your ass
It's the American way.

Hey Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list,
And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist.
And the eagle will fly,
And there's gonna be Hell,
When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell!
And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you...

I Think They Should Play The

Bagpipes As They Come Through The Sand Storms:D

It Worked Back In The Day!

America Will Survive
Hank Williams Jr.

People think it's nearly the end of time
Cause we're together and we've drawn the line
Our flag is up, the stock markets down
But we're all united from the country to the town

We live back in the woods you see
Big city problems never bothered me
But the world has changed and so have I
And America can survive
America will survive

We can plow our fields all day long
We can catch catfish from dusk till dawn
Yea we have toughed it out a time or two
Ain't to many things these boys and girls can't do
We grow good ole tomatoes, we got hometown pride
And America can survive
America will survive.

Cause you can't scare us out and you make us run
Cause were them old boys that have freedom and fun
We say grace and we say ma'am
If they don't like that, we don't give a damn
We came from the West Virginia coal mines
The Rocky Mountains and the big city skylines
We can hit back and we're gonna' be fine
Cause this country can survive
America will survive

I had a good friend in New York City
Never called me by my name, just hillbilly
My grandpa taught me how to live off the land
And his taught him to be a good businessman
He used to send me pictures of the Broadway nights
I'd send him some of granddaddy Williams homemade muscadine wine
He was lost like so many in the terrible strife
we're all asking God, why oh why
A tooth for a tooth and an eye for an eye
That's an old slogan we're gonna' revive
Because America can survive
America will survive

Cause you can't scare us out, and you can't make us run
we're them boys and girls with freedom and fun
We say grace and we say ma'am
If they don't like that, we give less than a damn
We're from North California and South Alabam'
And all they've done is unite this whole land
There's no more Yankees and Rebels this time
But one united people that stand behind
America can survive
America will survive

dude, quit stealing my ideas!

either that or let me kiss your brain. Whichever.

If I was a soldier I wouldn't ask for anyhting about peace, politics or about any country. I would be reminded of it everyday already why I was there.

I like the Toby Keith suggestion!

As far as bagpipes, hmm this isn't going to be an Old Spice commercial.

Dont tread on me

Liberty or death, what we so proudly hail
once you provoke her, rattling of her tail
never begins it, never, but once engaged...
never surrenders, showing the fangs of rage

don't tread on me

so be it
threaten no more
to secure peace is to prepare for war
so be it
settle the score
touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

don't tread on me

love it or live it, she with the deadly bite
quick is the blue tongue, forked as lighting strike
shining with brightness, always on surveillance
the eyes, they never close, emblem of vigilance

don't tread on me

so be it
threaten no more
to secure peace is to prepare for war
so be it
settle the score
touch me again for the words that you'll hear evermore...

don't tread on me

so be it

don't tread on me

Bad Kitty beat me to it with the "Don't Tread on Me." Thats the first song I thought of.

Peace is Flowing like a River
(take it how you will)

Peace is flowing like a river.
Flowing out through you and me--.
Spreading out into the de-sert.
Setting all the captives free.
Setting all the captives free.

Joy is flowing like a river.
Flowing out through you and me--.
Spreading out into the de-sert.
Setting all the captives free.
Setting all the captives free.

Hope is flowing like a river.
Flowing out through you and me--.
Spreading out into the de-sert.
Setting all the captives free.
Setting all the captives free.

Love is flowing like a river.
Flowing out through you and me--.
Spreading out into the de-sert.
Setting all the captives free.
Setting all the captives free.

That's a good one.

War Is Hell On The Home Front To

T.G. Sheppard chorus only

War is hell on the home front too, God only knows what a woman goes through. She still needs what a man not home cant do.
I cant fight this fire alone, stay with me until its gone. Oh war is hell on the home front to.

Vowing to fight Sadam launched a few missles in return. So would it be fair to say the announcer grabs hold of the microphone in the middle of the ring and yells, " ARE YOU READY TO RUMBLE"

For psyching up terms, something like Blur's 'Song 2'. For true blue, patriotic stuff... i'd pick the hymn 'Jerusalem'... just 'cos it gives me that feeling, you know?

I saw the Vice-Admiral of the Fifth Fleet say: "Its hammer time" :D

Not sure this is a good choice...

Queen- "Under Pressure" or "We are the Champions"

There's nothing much wrong with 'We are the Champions', but supposedly, 'Under Pressure' was a favourite of the Argentine armed forces during the Falklands campaign...

So unless you're nominating song for the Republican Guard...
