So You Think You Can Dance

New tricks?

NOW you're learning new tricks?

Bacon girl got kinda screwed for being nice; boot to the head.

A couple of my early favorites are still in it. One of the roomies still there...

Sorry to see Voodoo guy go, but his exit was classy and well done on the parts of all parties...

I didn't see last week and probably won't see this week. I assume they are in Vegas and starting to cut people?

This week was the launch of the season, but no voting.

Must have been hell for the contestants.

Three routines apiece, except for our little belly dancer who got sick, with the final being a Mia Michaels piece.

My two favorite girls got in, Eliana and Audrey, along with silent movie girl.

I like George to win on the boy's side, but their is the tall dark ballet dancer who might get a lot of votes from the girls.

The two ball-room girls made it, I think, on the story as much as the talent.

It was good to see the last of the Dragon House get in, but I hated to see it happen at the cost of another hip-Hop guy who actually did a better job in Vegas.

It was cool that Hawaiian Karate guy made it, but I don't see how he gets all that far...

They cut all the tappers and kept a slapper.

Go figure...

It looked like they kept everybody who got airtime.

Eliana looks like she's going to be really strong. I notice that they didn't give her the sexy treatment when they talked about her last night. Too much of that, and other women won't vote for you.

Obviously I'm going to root for Will, the most out-of-shape dancer I've seen on TV since Fred "Rerun" Berry. He has bigger breasts than half the women.

You got that right.

He and the next to the last woman they kept.

She's carrying some baby fat around on her too...

The good news is, if they're around for any amount of time, they will get into shape!

:) :D

Then again, to rework the line from Gladiator, some are good for dancing, some are good for being voted off, I think you need some of each!

Will... is he the guy who is 7 feet tall?

I actually did see some of the program this week (the fish weren't biting so I've given up.) I usually wait a few weeks before I fall in love with anyone. Some go so fast...

I did like the dance routines for the groups though. Very creative. I hope that's a sign of the quality we can expect for the actual competition.

Good episode.

Travis Wall is a freaking genius...

The Paso Doble really reminded me of Bruce Lee.

I think that what patient1 said was a bit off the mark, I think there was a buildup to that point.

That routine in the red was a total fail and I was about to blame the choreographer until I saw his African Jazz, now I blame the dancers...

My favorites did well and at this point, I have to say that Eliana probably possesses no joints in her body, it's just all muscle and organ held together by the Universal Will to Be...

I was very impressed, I think I'll have to watch it again!

:)

Haven't gotten around to watching it yet. I do have to watch that last one, if nothing else.

I didn't really like the African jazz but it was better than a lot of the folk dancing crap they put on most seasons.

I did love the last one with the martial arts guy. Except he HAS had more training in dance than I thought.

It was a really strong night. I liked the African dance; the first jazz dance and the one that was supposed to be "about" alcoholism were just OK, and that was really more mediocre choreography than it was any deficiency from the dancers.

The Titanic dance was good, but maybe a little overrated. It looked like they put the four strongest dances at the end of the show, and Titanic was fourth-best in that group. Just one opinion.

Almost all of them are really, really good, so more than ever it's going to be a personality contest. That's where Cole (the martial arts guy) will have an advantage: people are going to have no trouble remembering who he is.

I still like Eliana, Audry, Amelia, George and Cole...

Janelle is cute as can be, but at some point, I think the girl is going to injure herself out of the competition.

I liked the opening bit a lot and loved the 9-second clips, especially what they did with the lists...

um, UM, um, UM... :D

WE, I think three of the last four dancers were strong, I barely noticed the girl with Cole, he truly turned her into a prop...

;) ;)

It's her lil' buddy that's hot; she has that Elizabeth Shue mouth that looks like it hold pert near anything...

I hate that one blonde, the one that danced in the red with the Aussie vegemite...

Danny Baker all the way for the guys. He's doing a great job with the whole Facebook/Twitter thing too.

:rose:

Which one is he?

Nick seems to be the under 30 female favorite based on the McCartney-like squeals we hear...

piccicatopolka, I am sorry that your dancer was picked to leave...

I'm glad he took the ice queen with him though...

Okay, Did Cole steal the show or what? From Bruce Lee to Jerry Lewis in one week...

 the Freak!

Sorry to see Nick go, only Ball-room girls left.

George and Cole are still my guy favorites, but the guy who's partnering with Audry is good too...

My favorite girls were safe, Tiffany may be a sleeper, she's very cute.

I might have been a little tired last night, but nothing really seemed to grab me heart or my balls...

The opening routine was strong, kinda cool. I would like to see a total partner shuffle, Eliana has to carry her partner and I would hate to see him drag her down as much as I can't help but like the guy...

One more note on the two blondes in the tub, even as they were being let go, their eyes just had a souless deadness in them that showed in their dancing that left me wondering, hello? hello? anyone home? Is the attic light out?

No horn for me to toot this morning.

Oh well... great show last night though. It was Daniel's audition that caught my eye in the first place, plus I've seen him with the SF Ballet. His Facebook/Twitter is making it sound like he has nothing now but he's content to find something new. So no more SF Ballet?

The judges' comments last night were evidence that there's no way they're going to let Eliana leave. They practically begged the voters not to hold her partner against her. He's a nice guy and he's obviously working hard, but he's already outlasted a professional ballet dancer, so it's going to look unfair if he hangs around much longer.

The one girl that was sent home, Janaya, had some charisma this week. She really needed that routine a week ago, when she got lost in the shuffle with that dumb alcoholism dance.

The tub thing was just bizarre. I wonder if the dancers ever say to the choreographers, "What the fuck are you trying to do to us?"

On a night where they had a long plug for that latest Step Up movie, it was interesting to see Cole acting as much as he was dancing. One way or another, he's going to come out of this season with a career.

I always wonder if these guys go back to their own troupe or they try to go to Broadway.

Saw Twitch and Philip, the queen really liked the routine, but I was meh...

Like that all night, if I liked it, she didn't and visa versa...

I thought Philip was going to go get his degree...

Maybe he did. I hope so.

:)

I agree with the thing about Eliana. I want to see her do some more of the circus prop thing...

YUMMY!!!

But, the other dancers made it work and that was the second week in a row for props for that couple and they let down the choreographer both times...

The first couple made the dentist chair work (I think Cole realized that he had to do something, like act, or risk going home), even though it was a suck idea and last week Travis did a great job with the couch, and wasn't it him on the park bench that won Mia an award?

Way too much plug, especially the catty remark about the hair.

I usually like Adam a lot...

:(

Cole reminds me on Melanie that way.

Going places.

;)

It was a very entertaining show right up until my ex showed up and decided to verbally assault me on how much money I pay out for gardening labor to maintain his property that he does very little to maintain. Thanks bud - in front of your kid too... choice.

The guest act at the end was interesting in an odd way which was intentional, and I don't mind seeing Amber Jackson and Brandon Mitchell go home. Two weeks off due to the Olympics ~ YAY!
