So, where's the outrage?

You're such a transparent dweeb...

...are you ignorant or just disingenuous re: your own government's even more draconian surveillance and recording laws and practices upon not only British citizens but others all over the world, too?

Funny...

...where's your outrage, bozo?

And that has what, exactly, to do with the hypocrisy of our RWCJ? I think my government are a bunch of cunts and I'm not afraid to say so. Seen any of the RWCJ criticising the GOP recently?

Republicans voted with a 40-vote margin to keep the spying project while the Dems voted to repeal it... But Republicans will still blame Obama for the fact that it was kept - and zero pubs will discuss this vote.

spying on TERRORISTS is needed

Obama is NOT spying on TERRORISTS, he is spying on us!

you demented dope,

For the greater good,

I note that the STINKING PIG, Pelosi who was AGAINST it , BACK THEN is now for it

Stfu, with phoney POUTRAGE, you DEMENTED DOG!

There is a thing called the calm before the storm and if I were anyone on any side in any Western government right now, I wouldn't be as sanguine about all this so-called ultra power that people like John Yates like to talk of inside the board room on the top floor at the Bahrain Hilton when they big-note themselves to well-founded dictators.

In life John, there are indeed big dogs that bite strong young men. And then there are those who still know which side St. George batted for after he killed the dragon.

And there are those left who resent that the dragon was killed at all for such paltry and deceptive causes.

Can you kettle a dragon, Mister Yates? Can you, really?

You'd better start training for it. Right about... Now!

*do* they blame obama for keeping it? the loudest voices of outrage i've heard over this has been from the public, not so much from the public officials.

personally, i don't care that they keep it. i've assumed that this level of spying has always, always been in place, and will continue to be so.

I am upset that it didn't pass, though I think that next time it will. And. We know who voted for and against it now. We know who's in the pocket of the NSA.

So, how does that play out in November 2014?

Does anyone really think the government will voluntarily give back powers?
Right now they can spy on us albeit less than its been made out to be. No reason for them to vote that away unless they have to.

What would make them have to?

Considering we've all known they were spying on us from the beginning, yeah I do expect them to voluntarily give up powers. I mean what they'd actually be doing is telling the public "hey we're not spying on you" and then continuing just that but they could at least tell us it's raining.

I think this is closer to the truth. I can see them lying about giving them up but not actually giving them up. Be kinda dumb really to go through all the hassle of spying on everyone then just stop. I wouldn't. I'd keep spying my ass off all the time telling the people "nope, not doing it anymore. You guys were right."

I expect that is will actually happen.
