I'm pretty sure I have not made any declarative statements in this thread. I've been asking the same question and not getting any answers.

Since 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue, people have been coming to live in the US for one reason or another. Today, 2014, crime statistics reflect that black men commit more violent crimes that anyone else.

So I'm asking anyone with a brain, is it genetics that make black American males statistically more violent or are there other social reasons. If social reasons, what do you believe those factors to be?

Don't tell that to a Navajo. The two groups lived in harmony for ages until the Federal government decided they had to assign land on an equitable basis instead of just letting families live where they always have.

Seen the "checkerboard" reservation? every other square belongs to the hopis. Whether they want that square or not.

Hopis were fairly agrarian, the Navajos were mostly hunters. They shared the earth well for a long time before the feds decided to tell them how and where to live.

I have a friend who is a Zuni. Big bear of a man. They seem like ancients. They were pueblo dwellers so they were already "cityfolk' before the white man came along so their culture is pretty intact.

My parents divorced when I was 13, sister was 15 and brother was 12. The only brushes with the law any of us have had was my brother's DWIs and my "Oh you look like a known gang member, get in the car Juan" detaining trips to the police stations - and having the officers be told by superiors that, "if they had ASKED for my id before putting cuffs on, they would have not be written up for utter stupidity."

The other day, my daughter had her boyfriend visiting from Ireland. She posts on facebook location "AZ" then "Utah" then "Colorado" then "NM". I didnt get it till my friend pointed out they must've driven up to four-corners.
I live in Apache Country.

My ancestors lived amongst the Apaches and ran cattle through here. I moved here from elsewhere, I have shirt-tail relatives that i do not know around these parts.

Apache women, generalizing here, have very almond eyes, super-taut cheek-bones the warrior heritage seems to fit the appearance. They tend to be lean and athletic, Navajos have really warm eyes that tend to look very all knowing. Navajos are especially taciturn and usually seem to view my chattiness with mild bemusement.

Mostly we have 4th and 5th generation Hispanics, some of Mexican decent but some from the New Mexico side or more native, never really identify with Mexico. Not that different from when Cortez and later Billy the Kid wandered these parts.

Part of it could be the warrior pride of course, NDN's are all like that, especially around foreigners and especially the older men. Not like old-older, just like...30's and up.
