So... What next?

Wow. Things are moving in a good direction for once.

The inlaws know this is going to happen.
i've told the kids that my last name will be changing, and they thought that was really cool (in their words).

We've agreed on a custody schedule that just might work out well - it won't disrupt their going to school, leaves them with plenty of time with both of us.
i know that i'll be getting at least $600 a month in child support, no matter how little time i have them within that month.
He'll be responsible for housing costs for me - whether that's my staying in this house or finding another one to buy. No renting!

Now i just need to decide on a lawyer and start meeting with him/her to get this whole thing started.
Good to hear it's heading forward.
Keep your cool through that process, and it will be a better day in the end. It's not an easy process most of the time, but it can be an orderly one, if you are determined to make it so.

Buzzing positive energy your way. Somehow. I hope. :rose:

Entitled,
Glad to hear you'll be able to have partial custody of the kids. Apparently, his bluff about the mental testing blew over faster than any of us thought it would.
The child support and housing will help get you on your feet again. It will be difficult sometimes. But you have a head start, so the hardest part is over with. And remember, you have all the support of all of Lit.

Well, I hope it goes well for you. Divorce is often necessary, but always rough. Chin up and call his bluff. You deserve a chance to think of yourself for a change.
