The wife and I decided to eat out for lunch today which is a rare thing. Neither of us like fast food and we're usually disapointed by restaraunts.

We went to a small Mediteranean place near us and I ordered something I haven't had in too many years. (Their Gyros are the best I've had outside of Europe.) Shawarma over Hummus. I also ordered a couple of Kibbe.

Now the Kibbe were a touch overcooked but that's not uncommon with them. (I don't even attempt to make them.) The Shawarma over Humus on the other hand was absolute heaven on a plate. (I had to teach my wife how to hold the Pita weges and how to get the Hummus and Shawarma on the Pita but I expected that.)

The second best part of the meal was the price. $10.00 for the entire meal.

So what was your lunch today?

Nothing quite as exotic as that. Good old left-over turkey spaghetti for me. :)

EDIT: When I say "good old" I don't mean to say the spaghetti is old, just that it's a loved standby for me.

I had lunch with the Colonel today. A three piece chicken tender combo with fries, slaw and a drink. It set me back around five bucks. It was tasty...for fast food.

The last Greek restaurant around here folded about seven months ago. We must have about a hundred Italian restaurants though. :(

I stupidly forgot to eat lunch today till I was heading out the door to walk to my mother's place. I was already edging into a hypo. I had a high fibre apricot and macadamia bar (actually yummy). I just had a wicked pork chop in a chili sauce for dinner.
