I'm addicted!!!

I think they're sneaking some stuff into it... and I know it's not just me.

It's fucking flavored water, goddamnit!

I actually drank three of the BIG bottles last night and went out for more.

Twenty years from now, we'll discover it was just like the Coke of the early days... it wasn't called coke for nothing.

Sincerely,
ElSol

I've been very uncertain about *inhanced water*. I haven't gone to look at the ingredients, but if it has more than water in it they are suposed to list them. Though I have seen an ingredients list on normal spring water that said "ingredients: water" . They may have put something in it that is adictive. I swear Coke must be putting more caffeene in their products because it get's harder and harder to quit drinking it. (But I'm on my 2nd day of caffene withdraws)

I've broken my Coke habit twice this year alone.

I think I know what smokers feel like now... I'll quit for a week, and get a little cough and be like 'Well, this week doesn't count!'

Sincerely,
ElSol

Yep that's what I'm going through now. The cans of diet cherry coke are on the floor mocking me! They call out: "you know you want a drink. You don't really like water anyway". Then the root beer say's: "I don't have caffeine drink me". But I know that the root beer is just a gate way pop, leading to the harder stuff. ;)

Yeah... those freaking gateway pops...

Beware of Ginger Ale and it's suppossed 'good for an upset stomach' effect.

If they would just put vitamins in soda and coffee, I'd be the healthiest creature on the planet...

The thing with pop is not only the caffeine, but the acid. It actually eats at the lining in your stomach. So even the non caffeine pops are bad in that respect.

Coca-cola addict here, along with coffee.

I haven't ever attempted to quit, because quite honestly, I'd be the one up in the tower somewhere with a sniper rifle if I did.

With you on the Coke, cloudy, if not the coffee. :D I might not be in a tower, but I feel like I have mono if I don't have a coke in the morning to wake up.

In that case... keep drinking.

Unless you live in Washington DC near...

Uh.. just keep drinking.

That may acctually be why I feel so drained. Or part of it anyway. these past couple of months have been a non-stop ride on the emotional rollercoster. But I'm going to Hold strong! 2 days on only water! :nana:

I fall off the Coke wagon every time I climb on. I'm a zombie with headaches without it. I only have about 12oz per day, but I would beg, borrow, or steal to get that can of Coke. Be strong! ;)

Luck to you,

Yui

it's generally not good to quit cold turkey..i'm slowly cutting down...one glass a day has turned into one glass every second day until(hopefully ) it'll become a now and again treat and not a need *L*

I've tried that, but it never works for me. If I quit I have to cut it out completely.
I'm now on Day 3 and feeling very weak. I am curently surounded by pop cans. I'll kick it! Usually if I can make it a week I'll be good.

Not true. Your stomach is normally full of hydrochloric acid anyhow, which is how you digest food (and what gives you heartburn when it splashes up into your esophagus). Soda has phosphoric acid in it, which a much weaker acid. The pH of stomach acid is way down around 1 or so. Phosphoric acid's pH is about 2-3. The lower the pH, the more acidic.

Tha acid/sugar combo in soda is hell on your teeth though.

In case you're wondering, your stomach protects itself from it's own acidity by constantly secreting a protective layer of mucus.

Okay. I'll shut up now.

I stand corrected. But glad to be informed

Say "mucus" again.

Scientific analysis:
The main problem with bottled water is that it sometimes contains bacteria. To overcome the bacteria, I merely pour in a little [medicinal] bourbon. Simple!
