I asked for a raise with my transfer. My boss originally said, "sorry, but we can't do it" but today he told me I get a $4.50 an hour raise.

I'm so thrilled!

Thanks! It helps that they were waaaaay underpaying me in the first place. I was too much of a push-over when I originally took the job...and desperate!

Hmmm ... Your boss obviously has come to his senses about your real market value, just in case you decide to look elsewhere (which is still an option for you).
