How do you wake up? All grumpy and sleepy or instantly awake and ready to take on a new day? Need coffee first before you are even thinking about first words to speak? Do you reach out to the person next to you in bed for a cuddle or more?

I'm curious.... ;)

Oh, and PS: forgot the "other, please specify" option. First poll..... sorry :D

...this last week I've been waking up by reaching blindly in the dark for the phone around 2:30am and trying to work out (inaccurately) what time it is in Michigan...before making a few wrong number calls as I dial with my eyes closed before hearing the voice that has haunted my dreams...

None of the above, I'll explain. I don't wake up as much as I get up, and when I do I'm in robot mode. Shut off the alarm clock, brush my teeth, shave, shower, get dressed and leave for work. It's so automatic that earlier this month something woke me up at 1 am instead of my typical 5. I didn't realize that it was so early till I had driven halfway to work :)

Basically, "Don't. Fucking. Talk. To me. And go away!!!" :::GROWL:::

Thus, morning sex is completely out of the question.

Good answer too! It was just too long to add in the poll, although I have actually considered it ;)

Once I am awake, that is it. I might as well get up and get going because unless I am sick, I won't be able to go back to sleep. Most of the time, my internal alarm clock beats the annoying one I have on my dresser next to my bed! Don't get me wrong...I love sleep but, once I am awake, I'm up!!!

I am a morning person. I am the one that the grumpy people hate. I talk, smile and laugh. One of my favorite things to do is to say to the person next to me...well if there is one....."wakie wakie wakie the sun is up and so should you"

:D :D :D

I wish I was like that. I'm not too bad at waking up and actually also getting out of bed nowadays but there was a time I was about in coma when the alarmclock went off! My ex always amazed me by waking up a few seconds (no kidding) before the alarmclock and then immediately jumping out of bed. Also, he got up way early to spend at least one hour sitting and waiting, all dressed and so, before he actually had to leave for work. Sometimes made me wonder if he was some kind of robot or so. (I looked.... no screws or bolts to be seen anywhere on him :D .... )

Like I said, nowadays I'm better and I don't really need coffee to get started either. M does, so I drink coffee in the morning too..... nowadays...

And that, my friend, is called "jealousy"... :D (or envy...... either one :p )

That is cute cymbline ~ I giggled at your comment about being "the one grumpy people hate." I am usually perky in the mornings too. Perhaps annoyingly so! ;)

The only time my internal clock is off is when I travel, the time changes, or I am sick. It is weird how it works. I wake up anywhere from 10 mins to just seconds before the alarm goes off.

Most of the time I am a "jump out of bed" type. However, I can't do that sitting around stuff. I prefer to get up and get going!

LOL on the robot...I'm sure you gave him a thorough examination...... ;)

I wake up a little slow moving, but awake and it is very rare for me to be grumpy in the morning.

I would love to hear that one voice I've been longering to hear, but for whatever reason, he does not....so I'm full of envy Asian_Princess.

<grumble>

People like you should be hog-tied and ... oops, wrong forum.

currently i have to put my alarm clock to an hour at least before the time i need to get up - else i won't manage to be awake enough to get up. for the first half hour i don't even fully realize i am hitting the snooze button.

maybe things would be different if there was someone else i nthe bed with me helping me to wake up in a nicer way... but as things are...

I have to set my alarm clock at least 40 minutes early because I'll hit the snooze at least three times before I even realize the alarm is going off. I also have to trick myself by occasionally changing the time my clock reads, or else I'll be late every single morning.

I despise mornings.

I can usually get up without hitting the snooze, which is good since my alarm is the beepbeepbeep on my watch, and I don't have a snooze. :p

But I am -not- happy until I've gotten at least half an hour alone, with my discman and a smoke, and preferably a caramel frappucino too. There are times when it's a benefit to work at a mall....

Although lemme tell ya, riding the bus to work without having coffee yet... that's torture.

Don't bring any of those cheerful people near me! :p

Mine would have to be the final option... Always a fun way to start the day, but nobody ever took the hint..

Otherwise its a reluctant roll out of my warm bed, which is harder now as the whether is so cold.. Never a case of coffee though, caffiene is for wimps :p
lol

It depends on what day of the week it is. If it's during the week, I'm going to have to hit the snooze button at least 3 times. OTOH, my husband generally has a day off in the middle of the week. Being able to grab a little morning action before having to get up and go to work puts me in a more cheerful frame of mine.

On weekend mornings, unless I'm set to take a road trip or something, I tend to sleep until past 8:30, when I find myself surrounded by cats and the sun blasting into my eyes.

True morning people piss me off sometimes; they seem to exude this air of moral superiority. So their circadian rhythms work that way; big deal. With better reason, cats could claim that they are superior because they can leap many times their height, lick their own genitalia, and see in the dark.
