So far "Smash" is sorta kinda getting the NY theatre scene right

But I think that's mostly due to the location shooting and how nicely they film the (few) scenes dramatizing the act(s) of creation. Otherwise it's a little too "Glee". I like that it's staying (relatively) earthbound. By that I mean that I appreciate the restraint they're showing in not going more Hollywood overboard than they already are. Still, it would be nice to see a show one day that shows what the life is actually like.

It might also be nice to see a cop show that shows what being a cop is actually like. Or a lawyer. Or a doctor.
Not gonna happen. People want to be entertained.
