So "Cuckservative" is now a thing.

Reading the #cuckservative hashtag in Twitter is really depressing.

It's full of purest & unabashed racism and antisemitism you find this side of Stormfront. It's the creepiest and most disturbing stuff I've read in a long time.

I don't see what's racist about the term. It may be used by people who happen to be racists, but that doesn't automatically make the term racist if they are using it in a non-race-based context.

That's the problem with almost any emerging principle. Someone has an idea that's pure ideology, such as "conservatives have drifted far from core principles and have lost any semblance of intellectual or ethical credibility. Let's go back to our roots and try again!" Nothing wrong with the sentiment, right?

But the instant it gets traction, it's picked up by the worst of people and turned into a rallying cry for the worst agendas possible. It happens in politics, both on the left and right. It happens in religion, again both on the liberal and conservative side - once upon a time, Christian fundamentalism was this crystalline, clarifying concept; but it got utterly hijacked and now it's little more than a swearword. It happens pretty much anywhere where ideas inform actions. The world has a lot of people who don't give a crap about ideology but know exactly how to mount one and whip and spur it to the destination they want.

In my experience, the first people to get out ahead of an emerging consensus are generally the ones who should be shot.

I think it's a hilarious portmanteau and quite aptly describes the average mainstream republican politician.

Has that term EVER been used in a non race based context? Like, ever?

The basic problem with the whole baghead movement is that governance requires compromise among many interests but extremists can't tolerate compromise. They want to rule, not govern. They want to shove their 'principles' down our alimentary tracts from either end. Bagheads haven't won big-time because most of the population ain't bagheads, ain't ever gonna be bagheads, despise baghead ideas, etc. Bagheads are luzers. Whining, angry, dangerous luzers.

The earliest citations for "cuckservative" come from racist sites like vdare, national policy institute, alternative right, takimag, and radix. They coined the word.

Frankly, I was under the impression that there was a thread for 'politics'.
Can we get this moved ?

It's racist because the main fixation of republicans is race. The elected republicans to defend them from blacks, immigrants, gays, lesbians, Asians, Arabs......etc...

But they sit around and watch the nonwhite nonmale nonchristians "fuck" the country and "enjoy" it. Basically it's a term from the people who want more Dylan roofs and less Mitch McConnells. It's dogwhistling 102.

Ah, /pol/... the gift that keeps on giving... do we have a vkmit smiley around here? I'm on a tablet.

...and hey, quick subject change:

Elliott! MORE BOOKS!

Apologies for derailing the discussion into politics.

I've been hate-reading that hashtag for a week and the topic kinda set me off.

But I'll agree with the OP that it's weird that "cuckservative" broke into the mainstream. It's interesting to watch mainstream publications trying to explain that cuckolding is a fetish and not simply an Elizabethan insult.
