Star Trek: Nemesis

After months of flying below the radar (the film was hardly mentioned in any of the Winter Film Previews), the flick is finally starting to generate some buzz and interest.

Paramount has been softpeddling it up til now, deliberately lowering expectations, and now they're trying to amp the hype by billing it as the final voyage of the Next Generation crew.

The movie itself is supposedly rife with transitional moments for much of the crew, including (a la ST II) the apparent demise of one of the major characters.

So, will it be good? Will it suck? Is this the final voyage of the Enterprise on the big screen or, as Patrick Stewart suggests, is there a ready made sequel if it opens with big enough numbers?

Does anybody care?

Does anyone care... I know me and my friend from work are going to go see it, and I'm gonna see it with a friend from Vegas... and I'm gonna see it with a different friend... I'm gonna love it. Sexy Data.. TWO sexy Data's.. and Badass Picard.. and a freaking Romulan clone of Picard.. I mean.. DROOL!

I will be there opening day with ticket in hand.

It never mattered to me what the critics or the previews said or showed. It's Star Trek. I'm there.

Ditto for me.

I'll come to my own conclusions after I see it (with my Mum, most likely :D )

If what I've had to see of their promotions is considered softpeddling, save me from the hard stuff.

I've seen the Nemesis trailer easily a dozen times. I've seen the Two Towers trailer once. I've not yet seen the Harry Potter trailer.

Go buy the Fellowship Extended version DVD... the Two towers preview is on it... it's pretty....

Bought my first DVD player last week.

Damn Macrovision means I have to replace my TV or rig cable every time I use it.

Myself and some other freinds are going to drive 4 hours the day it opens to watch it with some old friends back home. What can I say I'm a major geek!

the closest theater is about 6 hours away :( and it gets really cold in the yukon, and there are deers that you can hit. anyways so cant go seee it :( gonna have to wait and rent it

This is just your way of getting into my pants, rat bastard.

"You think I'm gorgeous... You want to kiss me... You want to hug me... You want to love me... You want to smooch me..."

:D

Actually, you're just hoping they give 7 of 9 a cameo so you can have an excuse to drool.

SPOILERS: Captain Picard decides to quit his "day" job as captain of the enterprise to attempt to become the world's most famous white rapper. Patrick Steward does a fantastic job of portarying a man who stands out in the hip-hop world, but has the talent to become the next superstar. Expect Stewarts's rap single "Move yourself at Warp Speed" to blanket Top 40 radio play.

I think it depends on what TV shows (or what movies) you've been watching. I've only seen the Nemesis trailer once and that was during an episode of Enterprise.

It's no secret that Paramount was not happy with Insurrection. It made money, but not enough for the suits, so they waited 4 years for another flick and brought in a writer and director from outside the STNG family to try and give it more of an edge.

It's also arguably true that fantasy is hot right now and Sci-fi is not. So, based on what they perceive in the marketplace, Paramount may just be pouring their money down a different hole.

And while the Two Towers trailer hasn't been played that much (it's already the most anticipated flick of the year and doesn't need much promotion), if you missed the HP trailer, then you just weren't looking.
