Snowpocalpyse 2010

Yep, snowing and sticking in Georgia. I'm not leaving the house until it clears up, because even though I (and my car) know quite well how to drive in snow and ice, none of the other people who have lived here their whole lives do. One of the guys on the radio station here is from Chicago and was giving advice on how to drive. His advice: "don't be a freaking idiot and we'll all survive."

Crazy snow. This is coastal, southern Georgia for goodness sake!

Embrace the snow, southern people! Roll in it, fight with it, build with it, make love in it, take pictures.

If this is a once in a lifetime occurrence, for god's sake don't wimp out by staying indoors. At the very least, step outside and listen to the snowfall. Breathe deeply, and smell it. Catch it on your tongue.

I would have done that, but I was at work.

All.Freaking.Day.

After slipping on the front steps to clear off the car so I could drive to work. With torn tights and a bruised knee.

And the All Star Game thingie is in Dallas this weekend, with a city "shut down" because of snow, which means all the loop trash (suburbanites) came to the rich people mall to window shop.

It was a very long day.

And, CM, I am boggled. 12.5" in Dallas? You have officially eclipsed "insane" speed, gone past "WTF?", and are moving into "Plaid".

Plaid, indeed. One of the high schools in a less than prestigious part of town had to call the cops to break up a schoolyard snowball fight involving 400 students. Apparently 15% of the staff decided to have a snow day, regardless of the ISD's views on the matter.

Aw, see, here in DC the police JOIN IN the snowball fights! (with guns)
