I recently submitted a first part of a story. I was waiting for it to be published prior to submitting parts 2 & 3 to avoid confusion.

It was rejected at first because one of the characters was 17. I replied back that she wasn't involved in the story sexually and it was published.

Sadly, it was published in Lesbian sex and not non-erotic and the Part 1 was omitted.

I've submitted parts 2 & 3 hoping that they will come out in order and asked that part 1 be changed to reflect it's order.

I guess to insure that chapter numbers are included each time my titles should be shorter so I can include them in the title.

Rant over.

Yes, it's up to the author to mark the chapter numbers. and use a uniform work title It would require a lot of time and effort--and guessing--for the site editor to try to decide that are additional chapters coming up.

To ensure that parts are listed in order, the first part of the Title has to be EXACTLY the same including spaces and capitalisation, followed by Part, Chapter 01, 02, 03 etc.

Why 01?

Because if you write more than 10 chapters and number conventionally the order MIGHT appear like this:

1
10
11
12
2
3
4
5
6
7
8
9

If this doesn't come out as you hope, you should send a private message (PM) to Laurel. Make sure your PMs are enabled, and click on the link at the upper-right corner of this page, and enter "Laurel" (sans quotes) in the To: field. Explain, with specifics, what's going on.

Laurel may change the category of the submission, so you should explain to her your reasoning, although she may not change your mind. Also, just because a story/chapter doesn't include sex doesn't mean it automatically has to go in Non-Erotic. I have posted multi-chapter romances, with all chapters in Romance, but not every chapter has sex.

Thanks for the advice. I've submitted parts 2 and 3. I'll wait until they come out and see what it all looks like. I may end up deleting the whole thing and starting over as you all have suggested.

I've shortened the title so the parts will fit.:)

Maybe you can wait for a chapter to go up before submitting the next.

Yes, during my long series I always waited for the previous chapter to post before submitting the next. Too many things can go wrong other wise.
