I was looking through the introduction thread, to get a general idea of what I'm getting myself into (ha!), and as far as I read (a few pages in, and a few pages back), no one really mentioned this at all.

Personally, I've always considered the roles of slave and Master to be part of the BDSM lifestyle. I mean, they're not always involved, of course, but if they are, that's the "category" they're lumped in.

I was just wondering if I'm in the right place, ha.

My name's Liza, by the way. *waves*

Hi and welcome to the BDSM part of the Literotica, and yes you are in the right place! :rose:

We just don't really introduce ourselves as a *PYL (Master/Mistress, Dom(mes), Top) or a *pyl (sub/slave, bottom....) *Pick Your Label

Mostly, in my opinion, it is kinda nice to get to know people as persons before anything else, and later on you can learn some more about how they are involved in the BDSM lifestyle.

Ah, okay. Thank you!

Welcome...You will get to know more about people from participating in discussions, including how they see their role (label, dynamics, significance etc.). No matter what label a person applies to themselves and/or their relationship, how they identify, you will find it rare for any 2 who acknowledge the same label to have the same understanding, dynamics, experiences...diversity can be a wonderful thing.:rose:

Indeed so. catalina's M/s relationship with her Master is very different from my relationship with my slave janey. Yet we still learn from one another, share our experiences and insights and bits of journeys. You look for what is useful to YOU... What fits with the truth you hold in YOUR heart... Allow others the freedom to enjoy their truths...

And discard the rest.

It's the journey I find fulfilling, not the destination...

I wouldn't say that I need to learn about it, ha. I'm kind of immersed in it. I'm just not hip with the cool lingo used in these situations.

But thank you. ;)

Another question

What are your thoughts and opinions on slave registry?

What are your thoughts and opinions on slave registry?

For Master and I, it was as binding as a marriage contract. Marriage remains a goal of ours but we'll need a bit of cash behind us first in order to have a decent ceremony and invite our loved ones.

We would love to have a kinked wedding but both our families would probably have a mass apoplexy and expire on the spot. I'll be surreptitiously wearing a collar of some description though; a choker necklace maybe.

The slave registration really says more about us and our commitment to each other as a couple than marriage vows will. In our hearts and minds we are already completely devoted to each other for life.

Realistically? It's a website set up by someone on the net which in all reality could disappear tomorrow and has no meaning except what people who know of it attach to it themselves. I am registered on it and have been since 2002 to the same person, and it means something to us personally that I am, but if the site did disappear tomorrow making all those barcodes and numbers untraceable, null and void, except to the people they are on or belong to, it wouldn't shake who we are. I also know of more than a few who are registered who would never in their wildest dreams assume the role of slave, but they thought it was a fun and cool idea to get a number and so registered and set out to impress with their latest toy...not my scene. It does have some good discussions sometimes, though I would like some of them to be better. :rose:

LOL, we only had the money to pay for the registry office official ceremony (very cheap), and almost had to wear Coke ringpull thingies for wedding rings!! Thankfully we found real rings we could afford and liked at the last minute, but still no engagement ring or any reception afterward etc. I wore my leather collar which fit perfectly under the collar like band of the dress I bought for the occassion (also inexpensive...from memory AU$25, but velvet and gorgeous), so didn't attract questions from my parents who decided to attend at the last minute also. It was a fun day that lead to even more joy over the following couple of days before he flew back to Europe. Then we were both in tears.:(

You just saved me a bunch of typing, thank you... with the exception of I'm not registered there. ;)

Now to the OP, we don't care about the whole title thing anymore, I'm his that's all that matters. How we live our lifestyle is totally different from how others live theirs and that's OK. It is our life to live, as long as it makes us happy that's what matters. There are no rule books. There are no score boards. This isn't a competition. It's all about what you want out of it for you and yours. :)
