Random thoughts from a random mind.

Patients Bill of Rights:

~Democrats wants a 5 million cap, republicans want a 1/2 million cap.
~This cap isn't against the insurance its against the employer who bought the insurance.
~Most employers will not want to risk a 5 million lawsuit and drop insurance.
~Employers who drop the insurance will take the money deducted for the insurance and give it back to the employee.
~The employee will find insurance to expensive on his own.
~The democrats will move in like white knights and save the day providing a government based insurance.

The Democrats provide security but at what cost? Self reliance? Dependance on the governments for health provisions?

Faith based Initiative:

~Bush gives money to religious organizations
~String attached, organizations must do what the government says
~The relgious organization rebels or complains, the government closes the doors.
~The religious organization accepts, follows blindly whatever the government has planned.

The republicans provide finacial security but at what cost? Compromise of belief? Of Faith? All for the money? Dependance on the government to not be xealous for its purposes of fiath?

Global Postioning Satelite Techknowledgy{sp}:

~You know where you are.
~The government knows where you are.
~It can be used to stop a criminal.
~It can be used to stop you.

GPS means more security for your property but at what cost? your Privacy? Dependance on the government to not abuse this tool?

Government Education Schools:

~Uniform education for all
~Reasonable costs
~Lack of control of education
~Lack of individual responsiblity
~Government indoctrination what ever thier whim may be

Education available for all but at what cost? Possibly students who are unprepared for further education or life? Depnedance on the government to know what is neccessary for students to learn?

Social services:

~Provisions for those in need.
~Food for the hungry.
~Clothing for the cold.
~A system ripe for abuse.
~A system that provide more than minimum wage work does.
~A system that does not motivate getting off of

Provisions for those who desperately need it but at what cost? Dependance upon the government for to meet the needs?

It is easy to be a slave, to be dependant upon other for that which you need.

However, it cost to have freedom and to have to be responsible for your property, your education and your families, your health, your faith.

I read today that Los Angeles wants to tax space satellites with a property tax if the company that owns the satellite is based in LA. Guess they'll be moving (the company, not the satellite).

the EZ Pass, credit cards, the grocery store checkout cards that you cannot get the low prices without, all that stuff is allowing someone to keep better tabs on us and have lots of info on what we do, where we go, etc

What are ya gonna do? When I get a good enough job, Im cutting it all off, no bank account, no store cards, nuthin. Fuck the system, they'll have to work a helluva lot harder to keep tabs on me...are y'all with me?????

Probably not....sigh....

hello Todd

I was right there with you on most of what you said. But maybe you, or the source of your information, needs to find out a little more about GPS before they write something like that.

GPS is "unidirectional". GPS earth stations pick up signals from satellites. The only information contained in the signal from the satellite, is the serial number and geosync position of the satellite. Three or more signals are required to trilaterate (calculate) a terrestrial location. The earth stations do not transmit a signal back to the satellite. There is no way for the government (or anyone else) to know the position of someone who is using a GPS receiver.

The only way GPS can be used to monitor the location of a criminal, is for the criminal to be fitted with a radio transmitter which sends the GPS position, to a radio receiver somewhere in the area. GPS receivers do not typically have radio transmitters.

The rest of your information was interesting. Funny how one bit of obviously erroneous information can cause the rest to be less credible.

I suppose GPS and Satellite Location...

...is all a bit old hat now that Echelon has arrived on the scene...

hello p_p_man...

I don't know much about Echelon. I'm guessing that most of the stuff we read about Echelon is fiction. Anyway, as I'm sure you know, Echelon is not a technology, but rather some sort of organization of technology based spies. The stuff I have read about Echelon says they analyze ALL telephone calls, fax transmissions, and even emails that are carried over telephone lines. Supposedly, all this information is "gathered" and run through super-computers at NSA.

It doesn't take too much thinking to figure out that something is wrong in the math and logistics there. The sheer volume of electronic data transmissions that take place every day would melt down any network of supercomputers ever conceived of. The "gathering" part is another logistical nightmare even worse than the first problem. How do you "gather" that volume of data. Do you record it and then transfer the recordings to the NSA computers? Or do you route all transmissions directly through the NSA computers? Either method is virtually impossible.

I don't doubt for a heartbeat that there exists a fairly elaborate network of electronic spies. I am sure they "gather" and analyze tons of information. However, I think they MUST target their efforts to individuals and areas that have proven to be a threat.

I seriously doubt they are monitoring this bulletin board.... can you imagine that?

There was an interesting thread...

...a few weeks ago about Echelon. It involves 5 countries as the main committee (from memory I think it's called UKUSA and has Australia, France and, I think, Canada as the other members). The listening posts and relays are housed in each country plus others who are not part of the 5 but are participating anyway.

Whether it's true or not I can't say. It does seem a bit far fetched but then so does Son of Star Wars!:D

All I know about the GPS is that when my landlord and I were taking a new truck out on a test drive when we were about 20 miles from the dealership we got a call on the onboard cell phone.

It was the dealership they told us exactly were we were, exactly the speed we were going. and they were requesting that we return to th dealership area, keeping within the speed limits this time.

I thought that was the whole idea...;)

If one slip-up were what it takes to make us lose credibility, then I would humbly submit that there may be no one credible person here, well maybe UncleBill.

If someone is pre-judged you, then, of course, one slip-up is enough to go get a rope.

Better Todd. More focused on one issue. And make it interesting damnit!

CARVILLE: SHUT UP AJ! They all ignoring you, dumbass! You said dat's what you wanted FOOL! Damn, the people I hang out with , just to appear stoopid, so I can get an edge, man it gives me da willies. Now were's dat willie thread...

ba da bing ba da bump

Come on there has to be more than three people out there that value thier freedom.
