Whether you believe the decision to award the Canadian figure skating pair a second gold medal was right or wrong, do you feel the DECISION was influenced by the public outcry?

Do you think that if the situation had been reversed -the Canadian pair getting the gold when the Russian pair should have won- that there would have been the same public outcry (here), and also an investigation?

Yes, I do. If there had been blatant and obvious fraud I don't think it would have mattered which countries were involved on what end.

The public cried out in large part because the public saw it live on t.v., and it was in this country, so the outcry was heard. I don't think if this had happened in Cortina (for example just to pull an old Olympic venue out of the air) US public opinion would have been as noticed, but then maybe Italian or European opinion would have been louder. Everybody saw it happen in real time.

So: "Yes" "Yes" and "Yes"

Do you two listen to or watch the news where the French "whatever" admitted that the judge was told to vote a certain way? That's enough proof for me, it was so blatent, and everyone knew what had happened as soon as it happened, NOT having to wait until the media made a big deal out of it.
