We are currently accepting submissions for our SIZZLE, SQUEALS, AND POPCICLES contest. We’re looking for poetry selections based on childhood memories of summertime. No length requirement although exceptionally short or long pieces will likely cause greater scrutiny. You may enter up to 3 selections. Please post SSP Submission in the subject line of your email. Use an (*) if your entry contains multiple selections. Include entries in the body of your email. No attachments please. If you’d like to submit visual art, post SSP Visual in the subject line. Visual art is a separate entry. We reserve the right to select the visual art used for featured works. Mail all entries to Lotus_Blooms2000@yahoo.com. Deadline is June 30th. Issue will launch 3rd week of July. Please include your copyright name and date. Writers retain all rights. If your work is currently published elsewhere please let us know.


Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place. There will be a public acknowledgment for 3rd. Prizes will include both poetry collections and gift certificates. Only one prize will be awarded for art.

Summer is almost here!

This is a wonderful idea, daughter. I'm glad you posted this. I hope everyone gets a chance to participate.
