I bought a pair of black tennis shoes. I wear a size 10 or 10 1/2. (For those with a foot fetish...yes a lot of foot~ and no fungus:cool:) The 10's were on sale for 20 dollars cheaper. I tried both pair on, and I couldn't really tell that much of a difference. I bought the smaller pair. Now wearing them all day I find I made a mistake. It is worth it to pay more for the bigger size. Life lesson learned.

I was sittin' at a table for two
There were four of us,
There was me, your great big feet and you
Oh, from the ankles up I'd say
You sure are sweet
But there on down
Is just too much feet
Oh, your feet's too big
Can't use you 'cause your feet's too big
Ya got me walkin', talkin' and squawkin'
'Cause your feet's too big!

Indeed. Except for the exact make and model of a shoe I currently own, I cannot buy shoes over the internet. Sizes don't all match up. Hell, i can't even wear some brands because they are too narrow.

Me too. I can buy what I am already wearing until they change something about them.

In the UK shoe sizes aren't the same as in the US.

I take a size 13 UK; 14 US.

I can walk into a shoe shop, ask if they have anything in my size, get a negative answer and walk out again.

Online the shoe marked as a 13 might be a US 13 or a small UK 13. I have stopped buying online because I have had to return too many for being too small.

I like the European way of using centimeters. It is much more accurate than random sizing. Once I found a shoe that fit well and was comfortable, I just keep buying the same shoe through the internet. If the company quits making it, I am in trouble. :D

You should buy shoes in the afternoon because your feet tend to spread during the day with your weight on them. Women always claim 'I am a size X" (same as when they were 20) even if they have put on 20 to 40 pounds over the years.:)

That "half-size"...

Makes all my he difference. I'm up from 11-1/2 to 12 in 90% of what I've bought in the past 10 years.

Lots of good advice in the above posts! 😎

At size 13 and above there are NO half-sizes unless you have them custom made.

G'day, Ogg! :)

When I read your first post, I thanked my HP that I wasn't so endowed. I have a Nephew with (Canada/USA) size 15's , and he has a HELLUVA time getting fitted. :(

There are a bunch of brands I can't buy because they're too narrow. I've nearly given up trying to find shoes in stores, because even the 'wide' widths they have don't fit.

It's true that buying online involves a lot of returns, but I buy six or seven pairs at a time, and if I'm lucky, I'll have two (maybe even three!) that fit well enough that I have to decide what to keep. Shoe shopping out in the wild is just a slow way to ruin my day. I'd never wear shoes if I could get away with it.

I really wish US 13 had a half size. Most 13's are a bit small... Yet, a 14 feels like I should be packed in a Volkswagen with 27 other clowns.

Same goes with shirts. I have a 32 inch inseam, yet I'm 6'6".. I'm all torso. Buying bigger sizes just make me look like I'm wearing a tent. However finding a XXLT is almost impossible outside of a big and tall store. Fucking genetics!

So tell the Truth! Is the size of your feet and hands indicative of the size of other body parts?

You don't have to answer, but you can see where my mind turns.

Try shopping for size 14 shoes...

If I settle for 13s, All I do is wear out my socks and hurt my toes, but 13 is the limit for a lot of stores, including stores that sell nothing but shoes!

I am embarrassed to confess...
