I've seen recommendations to use Irfanview to resize photos, but search as I have, I haven't seen what Literotica wants for photo size for amateur pics submissions. I think there are two issues, and I'm not sure what I should be downsizing. I've got some pics down to 640 x 480. But some of them are 130 KB and some are 37 KB. What size does Literotica want us to use?

We are collecting quite a library of photos and want to share them, but I need technical advice!

Thanks for any help.

Next tothe attachment section is the main limit on atachments of any kind:

Attach file:
Maximum size: 102400 bytes

That's exactly 100KB and is the maximum file size you can attach.

With respect to image attachments, there is an additional limitation on dimensions of 800x600 -- that means no wider than 800 pixels and no taller than 600 pixels; your 640x480 images can be attached but if you rotate the same image to 480x640 it can't be attached because it's over 600 pixels tall.

With irfanview, setting the JPeg compression/quality to medium (50-60%) and resizing so the largest dimension is exactly 600 will pretty much insure that the image will fit Lit's attachment limitations.

Thank you for the help. I read about Irfanview in posts you'd made, and comments on how to do avatars. Appreciate you taking the time to answer.

Actually, if you're going to be doing a lot of image work, PaintsShop Pro from www.jasc.com is a better program -- it's what irfanview wants to be when it grows up; it's just not free like irfanview is. ($125 last time I looked at the list price.)

Depending on where you get Paintshop Pro, Animation Shop may be included for working with animated GIFS.
