Here's a funny story about this pic B&B! I have a relative who is in car racing circles. This pic was taken in 1984 when the World Endurance Championship was held here in Melbourne. Several of the Porsche team cars were driven down the regular road (Springvale Road) here and then on to the circuit at Sandown.

Thanks for the details, Dee. I could tell it was from a UK-related country from the direction of traffic (and probably the Rothmans sponsorship), but nothing beyond that.
Did Porsche do this as a publicity stunt, or did they not have transport vehicles for the racers? It must have been quite a spectacle to have a parade of race cars amongst the regular traffic.

Hi Gremzin, it was part of the publicity for the event. Imagine trying to do that these days!

When I first saw it thought it had to be in the 1980's and by the cars on the road it was Australia
