Here's a funny story about this pic B&B! I have a relative who is in car racing circles. This pic was taken in 1984 when the World Endurance Championship was held here in Melbourne. Several of the Porsche team cars were driven down the regular road (Springvale Road) here and then on to the circuit at Sandown.

Did Porsche do this as a publicity stunt, or did they not have transport vehicles for the racers? It must have been quite a spectacle to have a parade of race cars amongst the regular traffic.
