AV GIFs

Recently I have been playing around with new AV GIFs using variations on the sketchpad. Two major changes. First, instead of using someone else's hand holding the pencil and drawing, I am now using pencil sketch versions of my own hand. Second, I am animating the "drawing" process. I have received several compliments on these. Thank you.

So far I have used two of these, the Thong-Butt, and the Crotch-Grab. Today I will likely switch to another. Here are the four different Sketchpad GIFs. I am likely to continue to use these as my AV for a while as I do like these. Probably rotating them ever few days.

My computer crashed yesterday while I am away from home on vacation. :mad: Early diagnosis is a failed disk drive. If it is only that, won't be too expensive to install a new disk drive, install Windows, and all my software. However, I may have lost five years of photos, financial records, e-books, and all my Lit stuff. I am pissed and upset. When I get back home I will see how well my data backup system has worked.

For a while I will be very limited as to what I can do on Lit.

Computer Update

Got home late yesterday. Then had a medical emergency. A large glass vase broke in my hand and cut two fingers. Had to go to an urgent care center to have the cuts glued shut. Now have limited typing ability with my left hand. :eek:

My laptop situation is a good news/bad news thing. The good news is that the hard drive is OK and readable. I haven't lost any data. Bad news is that something else has failed in my laptop, which is my primary computer. I do have a desktop. I just don't like being tethered in one place. Also discovered that my file backup system has not successfully done a backup in 18 months. :eek: I need to monitor that a lot closer.

So now I am backing up the hard drive from the laptop to my desktop. A slow process which will take several hours. But I am so happy that I have not lost any data.

Then I will take my laptop to a repair shop to see about getting it fixed. And I need to find out what failed with my file backup system.

Bottom line is that I should be back on Lit, but not as much as previously until my laptop is repaired. And happy I did not lose any data files. :)

Sorry to hear that. I had that crud for nearly 3 weeks. Argh.

As for the laptop update - The old laptop is dead. The motherboard was shot. As it was nearly five years old, not worth repairing. So I have purchased a new laptop/tablet convertible device. It is really nice, and somewhat different for me. It has taken several days to select the device and now installing software and copying data over from the hard drive from the old laptop. Lots of work. But I should be back up and running 100% real soon.

I am having some issues with my new laptop. I have a Bluetooth mouse, and the Bluetooth driver on the laptop keeps crapping out. Spent hours working on this yesterday. I think I got it stable again.

Next task is to upgrade our wireless network. I will see if I can surf faster. :D

Yep, I feel for you with the computer issues. After Comcast sent 3 IT guys to our house, they finally admitted it was them and not us that's causing our internet to go off and on.

Yeah, tough to address some of these issues if the culprits try to dodge responsibility. Hope you have better internet access now.

Yesterday morning I read the new about the horrific security hole on Lenovo laptops caused by the software, Superfish, that Lenovo pre-installed on their systems. My new system is a Lenovo and indeed I had that crap on my computer. Spent most of the day uninstalling Superfish and then removing the offending "Trusted Root Certificate" they they had installed. This was a MAJOR security problem. Basically they created what is known as a "Man in The Middle" security breach, and did so in a way that opened the door for hackers to steal all my data, my passwords and everything they could access with that information. Unbelievable!

For most of yesterday Lenovo claimed there was no risk from their software. Only when there was an overwhelming flood of complaints from all the major internet security gurus did Lenovo finally back down and admit they failed to recognize the error of their ways. The largest PC manufacturer in the world, and they failed to understand what they had done. Insane.
