Simple Question, Complicated Answer

Why do women have to wear high heels to look dressed up?

I don't think they necessarily do, but it's become the standard to the point where people don't question it. Sure, high heels make women look taller and make their legs appear longer, so it makes sense that a woman would want to wear them to a nice event if she's trying to look desirable. However, I think a sleek & classy shoe design could replace the high-heel without much trouble. If everyone else at the event is wearing high-heels, they may stick out a bit, but all it takes is for someone famous to pull it off at some fancy red carpet event and it would become more fashionable.

What do you have in your pockets?

What do you have in your pockets?

Well, in my pockets earlier today I had my blackberry and my keys, to the truck, because he took my car AGAIN today. But when I got home I took my blackberry out and then hung my keys on the hook. I once found a $20.00 bill in my pocket, that was pretty exciting. I think I took the $20.00 and went to lunch with it. But right now, there is no money in my pocket, no blackberry, or keys...perhaps just a little lint.

Have you ever eaten food shaped like a smiley face before?

Have you ever eaten food shaped like a smiley face before?

Actually I have! When my kids were young we made these things for special treats for lunches or sometimes for dinner that my kids called "bagel faces". Usually we made them on bagels obviously but if we didn't have bagels we would sometimes make them on English Muffins which I suspect are not really English at all really. Anyway, on the bagel or muffin we would smear cream cheese. Then we would have stuff like olives, red peppers, green peppers, avocado, salami, alfalfa sprouts, cherry tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, really any kind of salad type vegetables I had around. We would cut them all up and let the kids make any faces they wanted to on top of the cream cheese. Some times we would do the same kind of thing in pizza form using can biscuits and whatever toppings we wanted or had around. Again we would let the kids make their own and make faces or whatever. It was great fun to get them involved and we all looked forward to those meals. I sometimes miss those days.

When was the last time you ate a school lunch?

The last time I had a school lunch? Well, normally I could just say a few years ago, but in this special case I visited my best friend's house the other day for some drinks. She just happened to have custody of her little brother for the night, and after a long night of gabbing I fell asleep in her house. The next day I was forced to take said little brother to his elementary school because my friend had work very early. And as a consequence I ended up being pulled over by one of the teachers who I knew (this is a small small SMALL town mind you...it's very unfortunate) and we had quite the conversation over a lovely (erm...) cafeteria meal.

Do you like words ?
Words? I suppose. They tend to get in the way of expressing things accurately or correctly in the context of presenting thoughts and information through one-way communication. That last part points out the inadequacy of words sometimes because without the nuance and subtlety of the expression or inflection behind the words -- they can come off with an entirely different meaning than intended. Hence demonstrating the point about their "getting in the way of expressing things." Still -- if given the choice I would choose words over say ------ grunts and groans. Yeah -- that's about right. :D

Do you wear nailpolish?

Well, that IS complicated because...........

I have gel nails where the tip is white and the rest is a pale pink, it looks like a natural nail. Then the nail tech applies a clear coat of THICK gel and puts each hand in this machine thingy.

So, it "appears" that I have a french manicure, right? But it's not........

If you used nail polish remover on my nails? Nothing would come off.

What food do you refuse to eat and why?

What food do you refuse to eat and why?
I'm not eating beets, cooked cabbage, turnip greens, mustard greens, cow's tongue. That's right, cow's tongue. My dad used to work in a packing house when I was a kid and he brought one home and cooked it. All of us had to at least take on big bite. Hell it was the worst thing I've ever eaten and if I didn't love my dear old dad and he wasn't almost eighty years old I'd kick hoi ass for making me eat that shit. And all those other things I listed - we were forced to eat that shit too.

What chore around the house do you hate to do and why?

Hate is a very strong word, though after a day like today I guess I could apply the word hate to the chore at this very moment dislike. But after thinking a bit about it, I am not so sure it is the chore that I hate more than the words that can be associated with the chore in question. All day long I am hearing the same thing over and over....where is it? How much? has it left yet? So the very last thing I want to here when I walk through the door is....or even sometimes in the car before we are even home is......what is for dinner?? That's right if you ask dinner becomes a chore and I hate a chore....dinner should be created with love and the wanting to please others....so the moral of this answer is..........Don't ever ask "What is for dinner?" Bloody hell let it be a surprise for once!!

Do you remember your dreams?

I do sometimes if I wake up right after them and I have a pad next to me to write them down. And then if it's dark I sometimes write over something I've already written and I can't read it later. I like dreaming of flying so I remember those and you do not want to be in a dream with me where I'm driving or riding in an elevator because nothing good is going to happen then and I remember those because they're strange. The strangest dream I remember was a war between parts of speech and I was with the prepositions and Hugh Jackman was on my side and we won!

Do you like cats?

Do you like cats?

Growing up, I was always a dog person and in fact strongly disliked cats. I never understood their appeal. Shortly after I moved away from home, though, I came upon a stray kitten and didn't have the heart to just leave him there. I kept him in my apartment for a few days while I called around to see if anyone I knew would take him in. No one was interested, but in those few days I grew quite fond of the little guy and decided to keep him for myself. His name is Ender. Since then he's really become important to me, and as a result I now have a stronger appreciation for cats in general. So, yes, I like cats.

How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

A wood chuck would chuck all the wood he could chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood.

Do you have any piercings?

I had my ears pierced. I got them done with a 14 gauge needle because I planned on gauging them further, and if you do it with a nail gun and then stretch it you get skin tissue build up on the sides of the hole that are irritating and not good. So after getting them pierced, I managed to stretch them up to a 10 gauge, which is still pretty tiny, but the rubber rings holding the half hoop in place fell off and I lost one of the hoops in the shower. So I took the other out not realizing that it would be a week until I could get any more earrings, and they closed. I think I am just going to get them repierced with a ten gauge needle this time.

What is your biggest fear?

What is your biggest fear?

It's changed a lot over the years. When I was a kid I was absolutely terrified of my dad, and I would have nightmares about him going crazy and killing our family. As I got older and realized that dad wasn't exactly the murdering sort, that started to fade and my fears turned to more realistic things. These days my biggest fear is that something terrible might happen to some of my closer friends. Also, I don't have a very good relationship with my sister, and it's a big fear of mine that something bad might happen to her that I could have prevented, were I around to stop it.

What is the last song you heard?
I guess that depends on if you consider the little bits of songs that one might hear on commercials or shows on the television, in which case I have no idea because I try to tune out the dumb commercials though sometimes those songs get in your head and get stuck there which I really hate. But if you are talking about actual songs like you would hear on the radio or an ipod, the answer would have to be "History in the Making" by Darius Rucker even though my favorite song right now is "Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum who I was lucky enough to see live at the Grand Old Opery last summer.

When was the last time you masturbated?

When was the last time you masturbated?

To be honest I wish it was more recent than it actually is. I masturbated earlier today, I suppose around three o'clock, then I went to the movies (I saw How to Train Your Dragon, better than I expected). When I got back from the movies it was my intention to masturbate again while checking the boards (it's a routine I've fallen into), but I got sidetracked thinking about a friend and decided to call them. They didn't answer, but I left a message and I hope they receive it and call me back at some point this weekend. I hopped on the boards and got ready for action, but then I started IMing with a recent acquaintance and that took me off track once again. I'm back on the board now and looking for stimulation. Hopefully I'll be able to find something and make things happen within the next 30 minutes.

Are you dating anyone right now?

I think dating is a great experience, two people getting to know each other, their likes dislikes, what the other person is turned on by, what food he likes etc.. It allows 2 people to bond well before they think of getting into a serious relationship! I think all of us should date at least once in our lives and I'm sure it must have ben a good experience for most of you.Ufortunately though, I'm not dating at the moment.

Do you like kissing ?
There are many forms of kissing. There is the quick peck on the cheek to say hello. There is the quick little kiss you give your children when they go to bed at night. Then there is my favorite - a long, wet passionate kiss that you give to somone special. Another favorite is a wild, bite and suck and tease each other's lips, tongue sliding deep into each other's mouth type of kiss that occurs during a heated round of sex.

Do you like massages?

Do you like massages?

To be honest, I've never actually had a massage. Neither personal nor professional. I can only imagine it would be a pleasant experience. I often feel tense, and any activity that might help to relieve that tension would be more than welcome, both to my muscles and to my nerves. I'm sure I could benefit from a massage every once in a while, and would probably enjoy it as well.

Do you have a car?

Do you have a car?

technically, i do not have a car, i have an suv. it's a white expedition with leather seats. the funny thing is when i went out to buy a vehicle, i said i didn't want white and i didn't want leather seats. isn't that strange? to answer your question though, if you're just saying car and meaning vehicle, i'd have to say yes, i have a car. but since it's not technically a car, i'd have to say no, i don't have a car. as you can see, i don't really know how to answer that question. i hope that doesn't upset you, because you seem like a nice person and i wouldn't want to piss you off by not answering your question. did i mention it's really hot and humid here today?

do you have change for a dollar?

do you have change for a dollar?

Since I am currently sitting here in my pajamas, I do not have change for a dollar on my right at the moment. However, if I went to my purse I might have have change for a dollar in my change purse. I usually have some change in my car but I recently donated that to a charity. If I went to the piggy bank in my room, I probably have change for a dollar. But in my pockets right now, I do not have change for a dollar.

My question... what did you do today?

I just looked at the clock on the wall and it was 9:20 PM. But that's because I still haven't sprung it forward. My car however automatically sets the time according to the date that the time USED to change a few years ago. Then the date got moved back. So the time started changing earlier than before. The car's computer does not know that. So when i started my car on Sunday, it I had to change it manually. After a few days, the time changed automatically once again, as per the old date. So I had to set it again. If I check my wristwatch, I could find out what the correct time is. However, by the time I have finished tying this reply, the time has changed anyway...and, does it even matter what time it is? Aren't we all just going to die one day? Let's not look at the time and just enjoy ourselves. Let's stop living by the clock. Ooooo there it is....right here on my computer...10:28 PM. I live on the east coast btw, so it's 10:28...O no wait...10:29 PM here. Depends on where you live, on earth, the time might be different. So, basically, don't ask me what time it is. Just check your clock. Unless you want to know what time it is at MY place!

Where do you live?

A place that is deserted in the wintertime. It is a summer hot spot, filled with tourists, weekend warriors, and summer long part animals. It sounds like the Jersey Shore, but the mentality and atmosphere is much more mature and laid back. But in the winter time, or before Memorial Day, it is a ghost town, a few die harders who last all year, saved by good books and good friends... Oh, and alcohol. Im surrounded by water, I find it peaceful and pleasant. And inspiring. I can sit for hours in front of the water, writing, sketching, or contemplating. I wouldn't move for the world. It is my oasis.

Favorite sport?

Favorite sport?

Growing up I was never a big sports fan. We would play basketball at recess & I would go to the occasional baseball game with my dad but that was pretty much the extent of it. I enjoyed them both but not enough to consider either one of them my "favorite". However, a few years ago I did become quite a big fan of MMA fighting, and would watch the events and follow the fighters quite religiously. That lasted about a year before I kind of stopped following it, but I'd say that's probably the sport I enjoy watching the most, and would consider to be my favorite if forced to choose.

Do you have a favorite drink?

Do you have a favorite drink?

Drink, what would you classify as a drink, booze, mocktails, cocktails ? or a simple milk, or a clod coffee.. Well I don't do booze personally so i think those are out of the way and every morning when I get up after I brush my teeth and stretch myself and log on to LIT, I have a mug of milk with me, so yes I think I'll have to go with milk. Sounds good ? :p

Did you enjoy the weekend ?

Do you have a favorite drink?

Living in the desert, water is my drink of choice. Now, water isn't very flavorful, although in the case of tap water here in the city, there are definite flavor variations. Sometimes it tastes like chlorine, sometimes there is a swampy undertone. It's also not a sexy drink like, say, a margarita, or something that comes in a pretty glass with a paper umbrella in it. Although I suppose one could dress one's water glass up and make it more interesting. Also, you can't get a good buzz from plain water. Which usually is a good thing! But sometimes, just sometimes, I like a nice buzz. Not enough to make me dizzy or give me a headache, but just enough to make me giggle incessantly.
