What did you eat for dinner last night?

(This is right up my alley, I'm AWESOME at complicating stuff)

For dinner last night I had seafood, which really was what I was in the mood for, which worked out well because I'm a recovering Catholic and it was Friday and lent. BUT I went late and they didn't have exactly what I wanted to we ended up with an assortment, so we had perch and haddock and scallops and french fries and onion rings. All fried.. fried is good because I have at least another 4 pounds to go.

Ok... confusing enough?

What are you going to do this weekend?

What are you going to do this weekend?

I was thinking about trying to get a hold of my brother so I could make plans with him, which seems simple except that he's always busy with schoolwork and he doesn't leave the campus much. But I think he said this weekend he won't be as busy as usual so I might have a good chance of snagging him so we can go see a movie or just hang out or something. I don't get along with my family very well but my brother and I, while not exactly close (we don't "share" with each other) get along extremely well because we are both really geeky about movies and television. The last time I saw him was actually just a chance meeting at the light rail station downtown and we didn't get to talk much. I'm hoping we can have a more substantial meeting this weekend.

Do you have any pets?

Do you have any pets?

Pets, there are four animals that live in my house, a rabbit, hamster, a couple of gerbils, oh yeah and there are four fish... are they pets though, or members of the family. Some people really feel animals are like their kids. I mean I can see the point, they can be like your kids, you have to feed them, shelter them, and take them to the doctor when they are sick, unless of course they die, like when the fish die and you flush them down the toilet. Perhaps though if they are members of the family we should instead have a funeral and bury them, but then again, that would mean I would have had to bury that bird my husband ran over with the lawn mower, because originally the bird was a pet, but it was noisy so I let it go outside and it flew away, but it came back, obviously since the husband ran it over with a lawn mower, by accident. . .Ohhh pets? Me personally I don't have any, the kids do though.

What is your favorite color?

My Favorite color? Oh that's a fun one to answer because I really don't have one, I mean how could I choose one color over all others, every color has something going for it. Look at red, so powerful and hot and passionate, but then again it's a bloody color which is kind of yuck. Orange is a nice color too, with heat but not burning like red, and I'm a redhead but people always called me a carrot top and carrots are orange so maybe that would be a good color, or would that make it a bad color? And Yellow, well the sun is yellow, though it isn't really, and sunbeams are yellow and who doesn't like sunbeams, though sunbeams are actually all colors meaning you see no color and isn't it neat that if you mix all color together in paints you end up with black but black is really the absence of all color because you only see black because any light that hits black is absorbed completely while a color like green absorbs all light except green light which is why it looks green. And green is a nice color too, soothing and full of life, and...wait..what was the question again?

Why does 2 plus 2 equal 4?

What is your favorite color?

LOL... perfect...
Well.. I like pink for clothes or fonts or random notebooks or post its, but for clothes, I really bright colors, lots of jewel tones or black or white. If I'm decorating my house, in some rooms I prefer neturals and earth tones, but in others I come back to bright splashes of color.
I have color on everything but if I had to pick just one?really? only one? You know crayola has the big box with the shapener for a reason right?
If I have to pick one I'm going to go with red.

Did you have a good day today?

Well, yes I did, due in part to the fact that I am back on Lit after a bit of time away. It wasn't an easy time, mind you, but I think I am in a better place mentally than I have been in a while. I still have more work to do figuring some things out. But the biggest stuff is starting to be put away. Coming back to Lit, I saw many familar avs--and I was struck by how my pulse quickened when I saw some of them. I had more than a few moments thinking, wow, it is pretty cool to be alive, and these are pretty cool people to be alive with.

What is your favorite breakfast cereal?

What is your favorite breakfast cereal?

When I was younger I loved Cap'n Crunch, but it would scratch up the roof of my mouth so it was kind of an abusive relationship. It would hurt me, and I'd keep coming back for more. Perhaps because I felt that I deserved to be punished? I'll have to look into that. Anyway, eventually I left the Cap'n and made my way through several other cereals. There was a brief fling with Cinnamon Toast Crunch, but ultimately I felt that wasn't the right one for me. These days whenever I have cereal I go for nice bowl of Cracklin' Oat Bran.

Do you prefer crushed ice or ice cubes?

I prefer crushed but don't like that it melts so quickly but cubes are no fun unless you use a straw with your drink so its a choice between a watery drink or having the ice smack against your teeth and such but still yet I'd say I prefer the crushed, you just have to drink fast.

What is non-dairy creamer?

Non-dairy creamer, well, you know. It's a creamer but it's not made from dairy which is what creamers are made from, so you can use it in coffee and tea and such even if your lactose intolerant, which would be horrible, I mean not being able to handle any milk products; no ice cream or cheese of any type, or chocolate even!!! How horrid, not for me nope it's not but we've gone astray, non-dairy creamer, yes, a powder you use as a substitute for creamer but don't use it in baking as it will never taste right and don't mix it with water and expect to get anything tasting like creamer or milk cuz trust me it doesn't.

How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood?

That's an interesting question, but being unfamiliar with the nature of the noble woodchuck, I am sadly ill-equipped to hypothesize on the quantity of wood chucked in the unlikely event of woodchuck wood chuckage. Nor do I suppose any of the other posters would be more knowledgeable on the matter than myself. I would, however, point you to the wikipedia page for the woodchuck, also known as the Groundhog, Whistle-pig or Land-beaver. There is a plethora of information there you can peruse, and from which you can draw your own conclusions to the query you've posited. I hope I've been of assistance.

Do you like apples?

Well, I would love to answer that but first you have to tell me what you mean by like and me? I mean personally I think some apples are tasty (golden delicious, red, etc) while some don't taste so good (crab apple anyone?) and although I like what they taste like I seem to be moderately allergic to them, at least my throat starts feeling link ants and walking up and down the inside of it all the time, but it doesn't happen with applesauce though it does happen with McDonalds apple slices so I'm not sure what there is in it that I'm allergic to, just weird I guess. So by like, I could say that, yes, I do like, SOME apples, but my body doesn't like them unless they're sauced or maybe in a pie.

Do you enjoy banana's?

Do you enjoy banana's?

I do, but lately there's a funny thing happening: I don't like to eat a whole banana anymore. It seems too big, too much, sort of a banana overload. My grandmother-in-law used to eat a half a banana, and save the other half for later. I used to think that was just too weird. Now I understand, and now I try to buy smallish bananas at the store. Right now I have a few sitting in the fruit bowl growing brown spots, they're going to be turned into banana bread tomorrow.

So what's your favorite season?

So what's your favorite season?

In general I've always preferred colder weather, but it's unfortunately often accompanied by rain, which is not to my liking. I like to walk to the grocery store instead of driving, given the opportunity, and rain makes that an undesirable activity. However, hot weather can be just as bad, as I don't want to go for a walk in the blistering heat and turn into a sweaty mess just so I can pick up a gallon of milk. So the ideal season for me would be Fall, because it starts getting colder but does not rain as heavily or as often as in Winter.

Do you own a car?

I'm not sure if I own a car or if the car owns me. It's a convertible and I love it even though it drips on me when it rains and it takes 20 minutes for the heater to work in the winter. A mouse got caught in the blower fan and it makes a godawful noise too, when the heater's on. But in the warm weather, hooh, boy, wow, is it nice. Big steering wheel, art deco dashboard, sun, wind blowing through my hair. Then I own the world.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Not really being one for travel, I've a dearth of knowledge about cities other than the one I grew up in. I don't have a lot of romantic ideas about living in Paris or New York, or anything of that nature. San Jose is quite good enough for me. What does appeal to me, though, is the idea of having an efficiently located living space. A residence that is conveniently placed between all of the eateries, workplaces, theaters & retailers that I frequent. And in that regard I would say that I'm very pleased with my current apartment. It is, however, smaller than I would like. Very much so. So I guess if I could live anywhere in the world, I would like to live in the house across the street from my apartment complex. Then I would reap the locational benefits of my apartment, but also be afforded the comfort of a much larger living space.

Are you wearing socks right now?

Are you wearing socks right now?

Looks down. I am not wearing socks though I should be, my toes are like little blocks of ice I'm sure if I bent down I could snap one off. I have decided to open all windows, turn off the heating and air the house. Bad idea. My fingers are numb, my teeth are chattering and my coffee has gone cold. I have been calling the cats for the last half an hour to come sit on my feet and keep them warm. I'm being ignored as usual. Thinking about calling the dog at this precise moment in time.

How many hours did you sleep last night?
Well, I stayed up later than usual because I had so much to do for today so I was thinking about work and cataloguing my to-do list until 3 in the morning, which then left me waking up at 5:30 thinking to myself sleeping for 2.5 hours is not going to aid the completion of my to-do list, why do I continue to harass myself and not just go to bed, you know? Is it really that important to plan the minutaie of each task of the following day? Must I be mentally prepared for each contingency? If ____ then ____ is a typical circuit in my mind. Maybe if I slept for more than 2.5 hours a night I wouldn't feel the need to keep such intensive imaginary checklists.

Do you like to dance?

Well yes and no. Because, I do enjoy movement to a rhythmic beat but it really depends on the mood. Sometimes I just want to press up against that special someone and feel her against me and other times I just want to be silly. The no is because the I get all sweaty and before I can make love to her, I have to take a shower which waists so much precious time with her. Then while I am in the shower I sometimes forget that I am in a hurry and spend too much time cleaning certain areas. Then When I get out of the shower, I have to dry off so that I don't get the bed all wet. Because, you know that you don't want any water on the bed. The only fluids I want on the beds come from the body not the faucet. However, dancing can be fun.

Do you like to look your lover in the eye while you are making love?

I love to look my lover in the eye when we start to make love. Then i get carried away with the feeling of his body on mine and i close my eyes to "feel" it and then i start 'seeing' another time and another lover against me and really like the feeling and the memories and then i remember who i'm with and open my eyes to see him again and then i feel quilty that i was thinking about someone else but.... then i feel deliciously naughty because i did have other lovers and that i have that little secret only i know of and that bad girls do have more fun..... and then i explode with ___ and excitement and i always look back into his eyes.

Do you like walking along the beach?

Do you like walking along the beach?
It depends on the beach. If it's a west coast beach, is it a northern beach? The kind with rocks? Because I don't like to walk on rocky beaches. That's more of a hike. And I only like that with wind in my hair and just the very lightest of ocean spray in the air. But if it's a souther California type of beach, I like walking on them in the morning or late evening. Because, you know, the sun gets the sand too hot and then the walking turns more into prancing. And, of course, there's all the people. But, wait, is this an east coast beach?

How do you take your coffee?

How do you take your coffee?

I pour it from the coffeemaker into a mug. Then, I slowly sip the steaming hot coffee, black w/out sugar, while consuming an English muffin or a pastry and perusing the morning paper. If I have time, or find something interesting to read, I may pour myself a second cup. If I'm in a hurry, I may drink it on the run while getting dressed.

What time did you get up this morning?
Well, my alarm clock started blaring when it read 7:15, but really, it was 6:55 because that clock is 20 minutes fast. It felt like 5:55 because of daylight savings time and staying up to late last night. I would have really liked to have slept a little longer because I was really cozy in my bed with 600 count sheets. Does the sheet count really help to make me sleep? I think it might, but I'm not really sure. I am glad that tomorrow when the clock goes off at 7:15, which will really be 6:55 I can sleep since I have the day off!

Do you wear glasses?
Glasses? Not any more. Well, I guess technically I do since I wear reading glasses to read things -- just about everything but I can see fine otherwise. Except of course that the laser surgery I had some 8 years ago seems to be in need of a "tune-up". I wore glasses starting at age 12 before the surgery but needed them long before that -- didn't want anyone to know. But I got a lifetime guarantee on the surgery so the tune-ups are free. That way I can continue not wearing glasses since I usually wore contacts just about all the time anyway. I guess that means I really didn't wear glasses at all because of the contacts and such -- well -- except for now when I have to put on my reading glasses.

Do you get "all dressed up" very often?

I guess that kind of depends on what you mean by dressed up. I have to wear dress clothes like slacks and blouses for work and I dress nicely for work every day. I think what you mean though is more dressed up than that like semi formal to formal. I don't get a chance to dress up that like very often. I would guess probably about twice a year... Once for a banquet for a conference that my boyfriend and I go to every year during the summer and once because we end up going to one formal dance every year. I love to get all dressed up except that I have a really hard time wearing high heals since they make my feet hurt really bad. If only I could either find a really truly comfortable pair of heels or get dressed up but go bare foot I would be a happy camper.

Why do women have to wear high heels to look dressed up?
