Hi Sienna..

I'm with Stryder on this one.. Goths are cool... Blonde Goths are HOT!!!

...wakes up... :)

Hi Nightbird  ;)

Well... I'm experimenting with style. The test I suppose comes with how friends see it. Not a very easy thing to do...

I suppose I've been BoHo before now...? My partner seems to think I've gone mad, but it's something to play around with... style, fashion... etc...

A freedom women have and should enjoy. Men's fashions...have you looked recently? Not much to choose from and if you do anything that isn't status quo...well...much easier for women to experiment and enjoy. So...enjoy Sienna, be as sexy as you wish and ask your friends to join you. ;) :rose:

I noticed something... in the UK and Europe a lot of womens fashions are going back to a 1970's and 1980's style... especially in shoe design...

Interesting...

As for mens fashions, I'm not sure. I agree with you in one thing, they are boring, as if they are kind of "stuck in time"?

Stuck in time...yes, I would say that is pretty close. Even color choices are very limited. And shoe styles? lol, oh well, what is a guy to do.

As for women's styles, yes retro, is that the word?, seems to be the in thing. Some is good, some is ugh...not so good. :D

There is nothing wrong with being a blonde goth. All that black hair dye gets depressing and boring to look at after a while.

I can visualise, where if you wore a black veil over the blonde hair it would look so bride of frankenstein but in a pretty way. Or putting ribbon strips and lace in your hair to give colour. Stand out from the crowd and dont do what they expect you to do.

Find YOUR goth style and ignore the sheep that are afraid of looking different.

Dont remmeber any of the Mission, or the Sisters, or the Damned having black hair.

Be yourself and enjoy dressing up and going out, screw the critics.

No worries

I mean you go to all the trouble to find the right outfit, to do your makeup, do your hair, it takes ages. Whats the point if no one is going to notice you and go WOW!

There is a TV show in the US, NCIS Navel Criminal Investication Service or something like that. The Lab technician is a goth girl, Black hair, black outfits, tatoo's the whole nine yards. For Halloween, she dressed up as Marilynn Monroe, with the White dress and blond wig! LOL...what a change! The guys in the office had there tongue's hanging on the ground!

Hi bigredboston :)

I bet they did ;)

Well getting a WOW is always a sign of your doing it right for you.

I have seen blonde goths at Slimelight, and the Electric Ballroom, and I always thought they looked wonderful.

I also had a thing for Debbie Harry when I was younger though ;)

I've seen pop vids of Debbie Harry!... she looked cool, I agree :)

I remember my Mum telling me about "punks"... again... isn't goth style a kind of "retro" punk?... just a little bit?

A little, but I would say Goth started in 1979 when punk was still around.
They were more the dark alternative to the new romantics.

ALso goth had style and worried what they looked like, not a worrry for punks, who just wanted to look individual and outrageous.

I admit... looking at the old photos of punks... they certainly were "outrageous!"

Well... my mates like to call themselves BoHo... and going "GOTH" is something they need to accept... in my case...

I'm, preggy so I'm holding back until baby is born... then I'll be able to concentrate more on the style and fashion.

Thanks for your help naughtyinsilk ;)

Labels

I wouldn't label yourself as "Goth" or any such thing SIENNA. Morticia Adams you are NOT.

i find the true "Goths" I have met have such a bleak viewpoint, they don't see the beauty of day & sunshine. I am a night person, but I also appreciate many other facets of the world.

If people looked at me, they would likely only see conservative. Read my writing and you will be aware I am far from that.

Oh yes, congrats on the little nipper.

Well, as far as I know it means... Bohemian ... "BoHo Chic"... a kind of "gypsy style".

And regarding being GOTH... I am trying to follow their "style", like BoHo, an expression of fashion rather than culture. I know what you mean, but I'm not totally converted to becoming a... real "vampyre"... not yet atleast.

As for me, I am on LIT more certain days than others - I am trying to do more writing nowadays. Lots of things keeping me busy, but try to check in once in a while.
