Sick Kitty

Thanks Rob,

I realize that I'm getting to be a pain in the ass about this. She is "just" a cat after all, and one of six. Then again I have this weakness for those who are helpless yet keep fighting.

More people care than you think. I hate reading about hurt, sick, or dying kitties, and yet I can't stop coming back to see how she is doing.

Here's hopin' critter pulls through.

You are a person of great compassion Cat--both for people and animals.

An admirable trait at the very least. :)

We need more folks like you in this world.

Thinking good thoughts about your family, Cat.

Hang in there, Critter.

Not a pain in the ass in the least. She's not "just a cat", she's family.

Critter is hanging in there but not by much. Her breathing is depressed to 12 per minute and she is barely responsive. It's kind of sad to watch her fight this way but she just refuses to let go.

What's just as sad is how this is affecting me.

I found a picture of her, one that I mentioned before. This is the one I finally titled "Pan Fried Pussy"

Im praying for Critter SeaCat...shes a beautiful little kitty. You are in my thoughts Sea in your time of trouble.

I am sad to say that my little Bitch Kitty Critter died today while we were in work.

She slept on the bed with us last night and this morning I couldn't make myself wake her to move her off the bed. She was stretched out full length snoring slightly when we left this morning.

This evening when we came home she was curled up with her chin on her forepaws and her eyes closed. From her position and her expression she had gone quietly and without pain.

While this was not unexpected it still hit hard. Yet now I know that she is in a better place. A place of endless fields of Catnip filled with loads of fat and slow mice. A place where all cats belong no matter what their owners thought, and a place without pain or illness.

My wife wishes me to thank all of you for your support. Not only of us but of Critter as well.

Our Thanks.

:( I'm so sorry, Cat. She had a good kitty life thanks to you and your wife. Everything was so tough and scary before you. You gave her not only a comfortable home, but a chance to raise her kittens. Sometimes, that the best we can do for our familiars. You did right by her. I'm sure her babies will carry on her legacy.

My sympathies Cat. :(

The kitties do find a place in your heart.

Thanks to you, her last days were comfortable and her death was peaceful.

Requiescat in pace Critter.

Her kittens, Magellin, Squeak and Scrapper will indeed have very comfortable lives with us. Their lives will be long and happy. (We did not know how old she was but we do know how old they are.)

All three of them do know that something has changed. They are very attentative to us and to each other. (They are also very vocal as they look around for what has changed, who is missing.)

Ah crap. Sorry to hear this, Cat.
Sympathies to you, your wife and your feline family.

We arrived home from work this evening. I found myself looking and listening for her as she normally greeted us at the door. It was then her being gone hit home again and I had to swallow the lump in my throat.

We put away our things and changed out of our scrubs while we watched her kittens wandering around greeting us as they normally do. It was only after we settled in for the evening, me at the computer and my wife on the couch that the kittens reacted. (Okay so at 1 1/2 years old they really aren't kittens.)

Squeak climbed down from her perch on the bathroom door and curled up in my wifes lap. Scrapper wandered around singing her displeasure as she poked her nose into every hiding place she could find. Magi did the same for a short while before coming over and sitting at the base of my chair looking up at me.

The kittens are looking for their mother and looking to us for our help. Magi finally hopped up into my lap where he is now curled batting at my hands as I type. Squeak is still in my wifes lap while Scrapper is laying on the back of the couch occasionally lifting her head and calling out. They like us will get past this, yet it is nice they are coming to us.

(Smokey and Bubba on the other hand, the two who seemed to watch over Critter the most as she died are asleep in the bedroom. They will no doubt attack us for some loving when we head off to bed. Last night they almost pushed me out of bed in their loving.)

Sorry to hear about Critter, SeaCat. You did what you could, don't beat yourself up.

She is watching over you guys laughing and knowing you have to deal with her children now without her help! lol
