Should Talk and Cafe merge back into one forum?

I was more of a no, why bother sort of think. Right now the Talk Side is sorta dead, but both sides do that every now and then. I'm expecting this lull's gonna lull for a bit longer than usual after the current fracas, but it'll pick back up.

If I remember correctly, there are some who are very serious about their threads and anyone who might post something off topic was pretty much forbiden on the talk side. The Cafe side was for the casual folk, where loose banter was the rule and the party cravers could be themselves.
If this is to stay, there could be no way to join the two, because there would always be someone getting pissed because someone else took their thread off topic for a few pages.
I see nothing wrong with someone wanting to be serious about their thread, but I also don't want to be constantly wondering if I could piss someone off by posting something off topic. I don't like the idea of forum police watching my every move. I'm a realxed kind of guy and most of my posts reflect that.
I, for one, would not want to change my methods of posting and knowing I should be respectful of someone's thread while on the talk side works best for me.
But, I do understand why it can get dull there, at times. Surely, I'm not the only one who hates to be serious all the time. But, there are times when you need a serious place for serious discussion. I think things work well, as they are, unless someone can show me a better way. I'm always open for suggestions.

I didn't support the split when it happened, but I think it has worked well in some ways. I think overall when you look at various other forums for BDSM, this one is low on the divisions into sub-boards. I still don't get the idea some have that you should post in either one or the other, not both...it is just a click away after all, not the other side of town. I have and always will enjoy both Cafe and Talk simply because it does allow that choice to be more serious or just kick back and have some fun with friends depending on your mood in the moment and what demands your attention there and then....of course I have a habit of flicking back and forth most times.

Though I wasn't here when the two boards were one, I'll all for keeping them seperate.
Mainly because the Cafe is more light hearted, less serious side of things and I like that. If I feel like tossing up a rather zaney post, no one's going to come down on me for it.
The Talk section has its place too- serious questions tend to get more attention over there, which is good cause they need it.

I think only a certain elite hand-picked bunch of extensively experienced posters should be allowed to post on both boards. Posts should be approved by a specially trained membership committee and checked for typos and grammar as well as the content being BDSM forum friendly, and of course, politically correct, using all the right abbreviations, designations and other assorted nomenclature...
