When on my period I normally run a heavy 5-7 days. MY last period was only three heavy days and then one week of very very light spotting. This month, I have been on my period for three days so far, and it is only very light spotting. Should I take another test? The last two I took a few months ago were negative. Any info on the possiblity of being pregnant? Or should I not even bother with it?

There are a lot of reasons why the... uh... flow might change. The food you eat, or don't eat, stress levels, etc. Perhaps you shouldn't worry about a pregnancy test, but have a doctor take a look at you. If you're trying to get pregnant, then it wouldn't hurt to make sure you have a clean bill of health in the first place.

I'd agree with Mickie: you should probably get checked out by a doctor. Change in the way your body functions can indicate all of what he mentioned, but it can also be an indication of some kind of health problem.

As an example (rather male-oriented, but that's what you get from a male;), I have read numerous times that change in the manner in which sperm is ejaculated (for example, someone who can normally hit the headboard all of a sudden finding their ejaculate coming out as more of a flow/leak, or vice versa) can indicate the onset of diabetes. I'm sure the female body has similar warning signs.

Course, it could be a freak occurrence and mean nothing at all, but it is probably best to find out for certain.

have you recently been on a new birth control method (pill, shot or other hormones?) or even switched brands? That may be the cause of the different flow.
If not, I would suggest going in to the Drs.
My periods were heavy and lasted for quiet a while when i wasn't on b/c pills. After being on them, my periods became lighter and shorter. Around January of this year though I stopped having periods and just recently discovered that it's due to a low thyroid level.

Have you been on any medications? That can change your cycle.
Any emotional problems or stress you may be under. Your cycle can change frequenly. Since I had kids it has never been the same from month to month. Go get checked to make sure, but don't worry too much. Your body just may be going through some hormonal changes.
