Alright, here's my two cents. I don't remember ever seeing you flirt with anyone here. I think you should practice flirting here, where you're safe. Everybody pretty much knows you here and won't think you're some random Internet jerk off.

Flirting doesn't have to necessarily go anyplace. Just because you flirt with someone doesn't mean you think you're going to end up in bed with them. That means you can flirt with pretty much any woman here. Even women who are attached, not in your area, not your cuppa tea, whatever. It's good to practice, and I can guarantee it will make you feel good about yourself, even if only for a short time. You'll gain some confidence, and, let's face it, nothing is more sexy than confidence.

So, you practice here without any type of expectations, and then suddenly, when you find yourself face to face with someone you might be able to have a relationship with, you know what kinds of things to say. Maybe paying attention to what other Lit guys say would be helpful too. I'm sure you know who the good flirts are. Using humor is also helpful.

Good luck. :)

Flirting here is fun, but it has very little in common with flirting in real life. Here, it is much more indecent. I may suggest to a woman here, for instance you, how I would love to demonstrate to her how I earned my handle. I would nevfer say such a thing to a woman to her face, unless we already had a sexual relationship in place.

Just practicing. No, it's not exactly the same, but it is similar. All I'm suggesting is practicing to boost his confidence. He doesn't have to be crude about it.

Box, I've never seen you say something like that to anyone. Have I just missed it? :D

I don't entirely agree with you on this. I've always felt that I'm a rather good flirt online, but not so much in person. I have the same problem as Thee, with the social awkwardness.. It's not just about feeling awkward, but I can't read body language, at all.. that hinders my ability to know when someone is flirting back in person.. so I just started avoiding flirting at all.

Being good at flirting online doesn't directly link to being able to flirt well in person.

Well, OK. It must be different for guys then.

Personally, I find it similar. Flirting is flirting, no matter where you're doing it.

I don't think it's different for guys in general.. it's different for different personality types..

It was sound advice, don't get me wrong.. flirting is hellaciously fun after all :D

Once I've known a woman for a while, I'm much better at understanding their body language.. but that's more because I can read the person themselves, not their movements.. so I become better at flirting with them (as my girlfriend can probably attest :) )

Anyway, I'm a bit drunk and multi tasking so losing my train of thought :p I'll continue it another time

I don't do a lot of flirting on this forum, but I do in Honey's Thread and the Nipples Thread and in some others. Here, I mostly discuss politics or give usolicited advice.

Has you not having sex in 10 years affected your ability to use your common sense?

How the fuck can someone send you an email through a site you aren't a member of yet silly?

http://www.plentyoffish.com is also free to send and receive e-mails, and it's one of the larger sites out there.

The big problem I see is, it costs someone nothing to post a profile on a site like Match.com and start sending winks. My experience is, people pay something based on what it's worth...and if it's so easy to post a profile, chances are that they are not going to put a lot of effort into it...or you.

I know some people have had good success with online dating sites, but given the number of disappointments, I don't think they're any more efficient than other ways of meeting people. Strike that--they are a VERY efficient means of receiving or handing rejections at an amazing rate. On personals sites, people get turned down for the most trivial of reasons...because there's almost always another profile to browse. And it's easy to get caught up in the myth that with so many profiles to choose from, there MUST be someone who is absolutely PERFECT just around the corner...and so anyone who is less than perfect isn't worth getting to know.

Which is why Match.com makes so much money...

I tried a few sites in the past. Adultfriendfinder, Meonyou . . . it was at a time when I was only interested in sex. I put up a profile, attached a few pictures . . . .

I got a TON of responses. But, as you said, Thee, many were from out of state. "I'll be in your area the weekend of XXXX, wanna hook up?"

I realized pretty quickly that I wasn't interested in "just sex."

I've found that the best way to meet someone online, to find out who they are, what they want, and to really get to know them . . . .

Is right here on Lit. ;)

Match has two membership levels, silly ;) There is free and paid. You can post your profile for free and then they make you pay to get the contact sevices.

SEE??? :D

I have to say, when I was thinking of the best flirts here, you immediately came to mind.

All I know about you is what I've read and seen of you on line. You're not a bad-looking man--maybe it's your venue that's the problem?

My daughter met a man with whom she had a very intense relationship, and then later, the guy she says she plans to marry, on line.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
