Should beeping car alarms be outlawed as noise pollution?

There is no reason that car alarms need to "beep" when the owner presses the lock button. Society has been putting up with this noise pollution for decades now and IT MUST STOP.

At the very least should it not be legal to take a baseball bat to the most obnoxious ones (like the ones that "beep" multiple times or at a high pitch)? I'm not even talking about when the alarm goes off (also obnoxious) but the "beeping" just pressing the lock.

Let's face it everyone ignores the car alarm going off. Nobody rushes to see if something bad happened. Me, my butt sets off the car alarm unknowingly. As to the other noise - it is status. You watch on tv and these mega rich people open up the doors to their expensive cars and the little sound it makes seems to go right along with the outfit and briefcase. I can't afford the outfit or briefcase but my car goes vt vt when it opens. Even though it is 10 years old and has 150,000 miles on it.

They need to keep the horses from whinnying when they're parked outside the music hall. People can't hear the ventriloquist.
