It depends upon the fantasy... I'm not much into (pardon me my lesbian hotties) "dyke cuts" on women, but beyond that my men and women can have hair from short (or bald on men) to about waist length... I find longer than waist length is cumbersome in real life so my fantasy people don't have it longer than that either.
 
Gosh! She can be even bold. Not interested in what her hair looks like, as long as its noting that's going to get in my way or nasty.

Long hair is fine, beautiful even at times. There's just something about a woman with short hair that really does it for me. I've said it before, and been argued with, but I've always felt a real sense of self-confidence from women with short hair. Self-confidence, more than hair length, will wet my panties every time.

Don't think hair plays a big enough role in erotica, it is incredibly sexy (to me) and the single component, outside of clothing, that each of us can change on a whim. In a crowded street, head and shoulders is the shot. Ok you can jostle position and pick up on other clues but a lot of exchange happens just from the seeing the hair.

Fantasy hair you can get from commercials, tends to be long or short for fantasy single women and shoulder length for fantasy mums. My own fantasy choice is hair that looks like it just got out of bed. I used to have woman who visitied my patisserie who had the style perfected, a polyglot of colours from blonde through brunette, tousled and unkempt by design - God knows how much it cost to keep it like that. She always looked as if she were on the edge of doing something wickedly delicious.
