Shibari/RopeWork Appreciation

I want to learn the knot they used on her lower back, I can't tell what it is, but it looks great.

hard to tell on my phone...not really sure how the lowest traverse stays in place either...but I think it is more just wrappings getting rid of the excess rope than an actual knot. I do like how the front diamond harness (not shown) interacts with the back

Hmm, didn't think of that. I mean it's just pretty. I think I need to practice more if you can use your excess like that. Would be nice to have the front picture too. It's not super complicated, but it fits her body really well.

Someone brought up that you don't see many rope play images with other body types. I love this image and I think it shows that ropes are sexy no matter the canvas that you use.

Looks like this one uses 3 ropes. You have your front (diamond) assembly and your rear diamond assembly. Then you have a common cinching rope running down both sides pulling both the front and rear assemblies together and this cinching rope looks to be tied off just above the hips. Then the excess front and rear diamond assembly ropes are what are used for the lower wrappings. I could be wrong...I don't like using a single strand of rope, I like doubling it up...but that is what I would do if I was mimicking this pic. I still think there are two rope ends hidden in her butt cheeks crossing to the front (probably the lower wrapping coming back around that appears to hanging oddly that I can't figure out how it stays in place). I love rope...

I did think a double rope would do better. I think it looks better. But I have to admit my rope skills are simple at beast.

Know of a good way to learn, other than just doing?

My instinct is no, the angles of the ropes look different. I like this harness type...it is easier than it looks. What I don't like is the third wrapping down on her arm...that is too tight and could cause nerve damage if it is where I think it is.

I know of an online tutorial by a good shibari master that was actually trained in Japan if you are willing to pay. I will look for the website and PM you. Better than books in my opinion.

Maybe I'm prejudiced, but I think curvy bodies were made for rope. All people can enjoy bondage, but I love the look of ropemarks on curvaceous thighs or bellies! Thanks for the pics guys!

I was wondering about it, seems like the last rope might press on the radial nerve. But I think it might be not tied or loosely tied at the least

Look forward to it!

A very good collection of photos over the past day. I must admit I much prefer to see rope on the larger lady, it enhances the curves. I have been sent several by friends I chat to, but sorry I can’t show them as they were sent on the agreement they are kept private.
