You're absolutely right...if I didn't like giving oral in the first place, it wouldn't make a bit of difference. It doesn't even have a high "spice factor" like new toys or fantasies; it's just a little something different, and enhances things I already thoroughly enjoy.

In another forum, a member posted he shaved to try to change things up and get some passion back. So, I think so much of it's individual attitudes and the state of the relationship: if those are poor in the first place, little to nothing, and certainly not shaving, will get a positive reception.

My wife fashions herself to be a "lady". Don't get offended. Compared to the norm she is obsessive about being proper. She is one of those that if you sat at a table with 6 dishes, 12 pieces of flatware, and 5 glases, she would tell you what all of them are for. Etiquite is important in the household. It isn't lady like to talk about sex (doesn't leave much room for talk). This is better then when I first met her. She was taught sex was dirty (catholic teaching), and made solely for procreation. Had I known that she would change from the day we met to the day we got married, I may not have gone through the marraige. Other then sex, she is perfect. I used to shave, and actually did it almost every day. I found the stubble got pretty uncomfortable pretty quickly. I think because it is thicker hair, and sparser than facial hair. Anyway, with a good razor and shaving cream it was very quick, and I never had any irritation with frequent shaving (my face actually gets more irritated shaving every day). But that isn't the case for everyone. I would suggest giving it a try, and seeing how it feels after a couple of days. Vary how often you do it.

On a side note, I found that my balls were much less ticklish when shaved, than when natural. But I don't think all guys have that problem...

I can relate to the other posts of why bother....yet so many Women of Lit really like it, so......

The women on Lit are unique, but the only one that I am having physical sex with is my wife. Maybe taking pictures of me shaved and posting it on the board would get some attention. But all that would be helping is my self-esteem. Because I don't suffer from low esteem, it wouldn't make much difference. Besides, I have posted pictures of my shaved member on a website before. There, I got lots of compliments. But compliments, don't make a sex life. All I am saying is that I have to try other things. Shaving, obviously doesn't work for her.

YES, that's exactly where it makes a huge difference for us. If I was just touching his balls, it might feel a little different, but it wouldn't be a big deal. However, kissing, licking, sucking, nuzzling...that's where shaved is far superior for both of us (sensitivity for him --though that's exciting to me too, and no hair near my mouth).

My hubby also pointed out less hair=more of a view, and I think that's somewhat true for me to. I like to see everything, and a very close trim or shave allows for that.

So, for someone who's not really excited about genitals or doesn't do much more than touch and give standard oral, I can see where it wouldn't be that much of a change or thrill. I'm not sure how your wife is, JB, but maybe you could subtly point some of these benefits out, and definitely let her know if it's exciting to you in any way (if it's not...just let it grow back! ).

After reading the threads, I thought I would give Magic Powder a try. I finally found it at CVS for a couple dollars. I wanted to try it on my face, because I hate to shave. I read the directions, but failed to read the warning on the can. The directions say to leave it on for 5-7 minutes and the warning says if you've never used it before to leave it on for no more than 5 minutes. I left in on for 7. I think all it did was burn off the hair at the skin level. The roots are still in place and I definately have a slight chemical burn on the test patch. I'll have to give it some thought before I use it again. If you have any suggestions, I would love to hear them.

I've tried different things to remove hair I didn't like. I usually trim around my penis and balls almost gone.

Shaving doesn't work well because I can't really reach where I want to shave very well. And most areas I would have to shave every other day. And if I shaved everywhere I want to it would take hours.

Tried home waxing. OUCH, but if I could do it then it would be worth the momentary pain since it took like a month to grow back. But reaching all the areas I want to is still a problem. (main area I want smooth is my butt, lol). If I had someone to do it for me right now I might try again, haven't looked into having it done prefessionally, but money is a little tight, so probably won't.

Recently tried a hair removal cream, it worked great on my backside, I love it and will keep doing it. DO NOT try it on your balls though, I left it there even less time that it said, and it burned for a couple hours after. I did like the results on my butt and plan to use it on other areas soon.

Ouch! I'm sorry; I should have mentioned the directions need to be followed very carefully. It's true, it doesn't remove roots like waxing, but it's still a smooth feel. I'd recommend another test patch for about 4 minutes and also, there's a warning that you mustn't have shaved for a number of hours previously (36?) and not to use soap when rinsing off. I experience the burn you mention one time when I was on the phone with hubby in a rather serious discussion; finally had to say "Baby, I gotta go, my ass is *literally* burning!"

I'm going to chalk it up to leaving the product on for too long. There is a warning not to use the product if you have shaved in the last 36 hours...that was not the problem and I didn't rinse with soap...just lots of cold water. It's been about 12 hours since I tried the product and my skin is still slightly pink and a little tender. Since it doesn't remove the hair at the roots I probably won't use it again. For me shaving is the lesser of the two evils. I am wanting to save up some money and get laser hair removal on my face...it's about $800.

My SO has been thinking of using a similar product on her bikini area, but I've urged her to really think it over. If her experience is anything like mine, I'm afraid she would be really uncomfortable.

But seriously, things are progressing very nicely now. She mentioned that the last time she shaved, she cut herself three times! I told her she needs me to help her. Then she can help me get those spots I miss. Planned for this weekend....I can't wait!

If you know how to use a razor, your testicles are likely safe. If the hair's long, trim it with clippers first, and then shave, pulling the skin taut before making a pass with the razor. The only time we've had issues with nicks is when the blade was bad out of the factory, and even then, it wasn't so terrible. Give it a try, and I'm fairly certain you won't have a problem (I have yet to hear of a guy complaining of cutting himself).
