shaving your balls

If you shave daily for a while (weeks to a couple of months), it shouldn't get itchy. Your skin has to go through a period of adjustment.

I don't know why you're cutting yourself if you're holding the razor securely, using vertical strokes (perpendicular to the blades) and pulling the skin taut. I've used the Quattro for years, and it's the only razor I've never cut myself with, even on the trickiest areas.

I recently tried Magic Shave Powder (it's a depilatory for black men's faces and available everywhere) on Hubby. It was easy, and caused no bad smell or irritation, unlike Nair and Veet. I think it (and especially the Sensitive Skin formula) is much gentler and has fewer irritating chemicals (actually most of the ingredients are good for the skin) than other depilatories, just because it is intended for use on the face. It stays smoother longer than shaving, too, although it does take longer, so you really don't save any time overall in the end.

So, perhaps you should give it a try and see if it works better than shaving for you. Do make sure you follow the instructions carefully, including doing the test first, as some people have reacted badly to it (though from our experience, it seems a lot less risky than other depilatories; I'm even going to try it, in spite of problems with Nair and especially Veet in the past).

Otherwise, you could give waxing a shot if you have the money. Or laser hair removal, but that's very expensive (though less so than waxing long-term).

I just make sure to shave every other day or so--also make sure your blade is sharp. I found if I wait too long--I tend to get more ingrown hairs and "itching". And a dull blade really causes problems :)

Keep it up--and it gets easier--and less problems happen.

You could try plucking them instead. It takes a couple of hours but it lasts about three weeks and I find it oddly satisfying when I pull the hair out.

Anything that removes the risk of lacerating my member is worth the time.

that would take forever....and hurt like a bitch

I dunno--I just shave like normal. I actually use shaving gel (gilette for sensitive skin) and shave every couple of days.

Just do it in the shower--and make sure to stretch it while you shave. I found being erect or semi erect makes it easier to shave the base (and fun too LOL) and sometimes my sack tends to be tight --not sure why--and it is soo much easier to shave then.

Yep go with the Gillette Mach 3 and try Oil of Olay Ultra Moisture with Shea Butter. The best.

I even received a complement from the Vasectomy nurse. Best shave job she had ever seen.

I agree with SweetErika - try waxing. BUT I'm guessing if you're asking this question you've not really tried being hairless before. So try shaving first.

If you like how it looks / feels, then get try getting waxed.
It's a much better result, for various well documented reasons. But it takes several time longer to grow back than shaving - a plus if you like it, a minus if you don't.

Shaving

I found shaving my penis and balls dry was easier than in the shower. I use a twin blade razor. Been doing this for over 25 years.

I usually shave in the shower. Bought a bag of decent disposables and would use a new one while in the shower or right after. No problems.

Have you considered the Pussy Shaver. I do my husband with this (and myself).

Use the trimmer to wack the bush and then the shaver to get nice a close. its a dry shaver... NO WATER. I like to do him them that always turns into oral fun.... Makes him look bigger than he is too. did I just write that? sorry hunny! :) :) :)

Just a thought. Good luck with whatever technique you use.

My Man had this trouble so now he uses clippers and leaves a grade 2 of hair behind I think. It looks fine to me and the hair is just long enough not to be stubbly or scratchy against me. Regular shaving down there is bound to cause irritation and also ingrowing hairs that are not fun. I think you should consider trimming rather than shaving the hair right off. JMO.

Grade 2 all over ... from top to bottom ... that's my plan

Quick question about shaving, is there a way to make it not sooo itchy.
I've tried it some times, but the itch factor was just too uncomfortable. Now I just trim and make it neat.

Any thoughts?

Here's what I said at the top of the page (it's still true!):
If you shave daily for a while (weeks to a couple of months, depending on your skin), it shouldn't get itchy, even if you go quite awhile between shaves. Your skin has to go through a period of adjustment.

I just tried Magic on myself tonight, and am very pleased with the results. I had no reaction whatsoever, even though I've had bad reactions to Nair and Veet in the past. It's more time consuming and a hassle than shaving, but I think it'll be a good alternative when I want to be smoother for longer.

So, perhaps you should give Magic a try, SLA. :)
