shaving vs waxing

yes

smooth - incredibly smooth and very "clean" feeling. I love it. definitely hooked. Thanks again. I'll get adventurous soon and try it myself... to save some money. (brazillian's here are 50 a pop... or is that pluck...)

Good morning, PO. Just wanted to say 'thanks' for the instructions you posted. How long does it usually take SurgiWax (found it at my local drustore! :) ) to cool on a humid summer day before pulling it off (was going to say 'ripping it off,' but that sounds like '...along with several layers of skin' should be added to it!)?

(Hopefully) Your Friend,

Isn't there a laser treatment that removes hair permanently now?

Absolutely. I know a woman who got the treatment and she was very happy with it. She said many places do combo deals-- legs & pubes, lip & pits, etc. There are even bulletin boards specifically about laser treatment if you run a google search.

Do I really want to enquire about waxing my nuts?

Had a go shaving the other week and must admit do prefer it but find the obvious downsides to using a razor and was wondering if this is likely to be a sucessful method or whether US readers will be able to hear the screams from there if I give it a try.

Probably only if there's a strong SouthEast wind.

It's hard to say if three weeks is too soon, it's different for each person. If you tend to be hairy or have fast growing hair, then three weeks might be okay. It also depends on the part of your body you are talking about. I wax my pubes every 3-4 weeks, but my pits only need it every 8 weeks or so, and my legs are somewhere in between.

You can always make an appointment and find out how much advance they want for a cancellation (usually 1-2 days). Wait until the last minute, and if you don't need it, cancel, and if you do need it, you'll have the appointment.

It's addictive, isn't it? Amazing how smooth it gets you.

hey pink love the av... i havnt waxed ...yet but do love to shave my cock and balls it really a nice feeling tro be all smooth and clean

I love being shaved myself and have never had any serious mishaps. I've always used a standard safety razor, but am looking forward to trying out the Magic Shave I recently bought. If you run a search on "magic shave" you'll find a number of threads about it; folks around here love it!

I will have a look-see, got bored and decided to give shaving a pop and must admit I'm quite taken with it apart from the frequency that I need to repeat, especially given the cost of razors.

One other question for the blokes, where do you stop? I got to the stage where I ended up shaving pretty much everything below the belly button because I couldnt really get to a point where I didnt look daft going from hairless to hairy. Given that I dont cycle anymore I cant use that as an excuse for having shaved legs (that said Its an nice feeling in its own right, not to mention being able to dry your legs in seconds post shower).

The only part I havent dared go near, is round the ol chocolate starfish, there is no way I am going near there with a razor.

I'm also fairly hairy along the front, so I tend to taper thing off. Before I start shaving with the razor, I trim the whole area to be shaved anyway, which making shaving easier. While doing so, I'll also trim (with scissors or clippers) a larger area than I plan to shave. That larger area generally extends up towards the navel. This way, once I've shaved, I have a gradual increase in hair length up my abdomen until it reaches full natural length at the navel.

I shave everything above my belly button and shave my happy trail into straighter sides that blend into my "area Rug".

My waxer won't do guys pubic regions. She says it's too dangerous. Potential for too much damage.

I think my waxer is GREAT. She's actually Egyptian. According to her, the women from her country wax EVERYTHING. They want to be completely hairless, including arms and toes!

I'm a complete chicken when it comes to thinking about waxing myself. But I won't go back to shaving. ECK!! I find that waxing at 3.5 week is ideal for me. The hair is long enough to grab but short enough not to hurt too bad. Anymore than that and it really starts to hurt.

Having nearly come a cropper with a razor this evening in the shower, thats not really what I want to hear, but I guess it does answer the question.

new to thread!

I hope this thread isn't dead yet, I was so relieved to find other people asking the same questions. Everyone talked about their 1st times waxing, but...What about the regrowth? Is it really as painful and itchy as rumoured? I've been dying to get a brazilian wax, but the spectre of itchiness and burning has held me back. aren't there a ton of ingrown hairs?

Also, aside from this scary Magic product, is there something else out there for ingrown hairs? (I have coarse thick hair--seriously, barbed wire pubes and the regrowth is scaring me.) (oh yeah, and i'm a wuss to begin with.)

thanks!!

Well...

I had a brazilian for the first time a week and a half ago (I'd never even had a bikini wax before!). It was the worst pain I've experienced in my life, but it was so worth it! I got some Micrafolix Ingrow Free and have been moisturising so I haven't had any problems. And the place I went to: the lady was really nice, and it was only $30! It's like $70 anywhere else I've seen! Ah, that's small town prices for you.

P.S. Simone: I also have very coarse hair. So, like I said, it was tough, but worth it. And (at least so far), exfoliation, moisturisation, and this ingrow solution have worked - I haven't been uncomfortable at all.
