My man has just shaved his beard off - for the first time in a very long time.

Can anyone give him some advice as to how to get a really close shave? His hairs seem to grow in different directions - which makes going with the grain nigh on impossible. It's particularly bad underneath his chin - where the skin is very sensitive anyway.

Please help us . . . my delicate and fragile skin has been abraded - and I'm not talking about my face :0

Although make sure you test a tiny spot first in case his skin is sensitive to it.

I've found the only way I get a really close shave is to do what every shaving book says not to do: shave against the grain. For me it is especially true under the chin where the hairs seem to lay flat against the skin. If I shave with the grain, I don't even shave off all the hairs.

Also, when I shave, I shave by feel more than by look. Shaving is also the last thing I do in the shower, it gives the skin time to wake up, and the books are definately right about shaving after the face has been steamed works better. A good aftershave is also key. I'm not talking the type with alcohol, but the lotions which have moisturizers.

If his grain is in different directions, just shave in all of them

Although if his skin is especially sensitive, gillette make some after shave soothing balm stuff for sensitive skin which takes care of my sensitive skin very well.

Like others have said:

1) Shave in ALL DIRECTIONS
2) Build your tolerance up to it.
3) FEEL your way. After he shaves he needs to feel the wet face for stubble and then keep shaving until it's gone...if it doesn't go away, shave it in another direction.

I have a very heavy beard, but after I get through shaving, you wouldn't have anything from my face as a momento but an explosive orgasm.

PS. He'd have to build up to it, but at this point, I don't use any shave cream. Just warm water. Sometimes it's even mildly painful to me to shave, but it makes for one dang close "baby's ass" smooth shave.

My face is really sensitive too, and my girl got me some shaving kit from Avon. Between that after-shave lotion and a shaving cream from Basin Brand things work out ok. No complaints
