what do you guys suggest is the best way to get rid of your chest hair or any unwanted body hair. I just recently used Nair for men and have recieved chemical burns and broke out...any other ways that you guys could suggest?

Thanks

Apologies in advance, because I know that this isn't what you want to hear, but why do you want to get rid of your chest hair? My husband has a lot of chest hair, and I LOVE running my fingers through it!

I can certainly understand trimming/shaving the pubes, but leave the chest hair alone! :D

i can understand where this guy's comin' from... it's possible his SO doesn't like it... OR, it could be a comfort thing... OR, it could be that he doesn't like it himself. i'm assuming this is a guy here. ;) some guys do it to increase their muscle definition too.

but as SE said... check the blank manual.

I totally agree with Eilan... but if you are determined...one word:
WAX!

I shave me chest and I can give you some tips. I always use a good razor like an M3 Power from Gillette. I already used a normal double bladed disposable razor and it worked fine. I always get my chest good and soaked up in the shower. Then I mix aloe vera gel and shave cream together(makes a better lotion I feel) and I slap it on. First I always go with the hair, not against it, and I go slowly. Then I rinse and lather up again and go against the grain to get real close. I do this slowly as well. I also do my groin and shoulders. Once I get out of the shower I wipe my chest down with witch hazel which closes the pores and pretty much eliminates razor bumps you would otherwise get. Before I turn in for the night I usually rub some aloe vera gel on my shaved areas, it seems to work for me.
I to tried Nair and another hair removal cream and also ended up getting burned and such and it worked not to well. I tried leaving it on for 3min and also more and still got red patches of irritation. I said never again.
I tried waxing and it was not all that painful. I did get medium amounts of iiritation from it and it looked bad and beleive it or not the hair was growing back 3 days later. Not worth it in my book. Wife helped rip off the waxed paper. LOL.
I usually cannot shave for about a week after I shave because the skin gets irritated otherwise from to much shaving. Hope this helps.

I know--how many hairy-chested/bodied bodybuilders are onstage?

Just my preference, which doesn't mean crap. :)

My chest hair really doesn't bother me so much as my back and shoulder hair. Bleh. Just tried waxing and I'm not sure about the results. Did have some irritation that took a few days to go away. Hopefully the hair becoming sparser over time with waxing is true...

Sportland, where do you get the witch hazel from? I've been thinking of shaving as well, and that stuff sounds like it'd be a great way to eliminate some unnecessary unpleasantries.

awwww... but your preference DOES mean crap around here. i was only pointing out the opposing view for the sake of objectivity.

any drug store will have it... usually with the alcohol or skin creams.

Interesting thread....makes me think of a friend of mine......

She was dating the NICEST guy!!! Until she started making out with him on their 2nd date and could feel the crinkle of LOTS of hair underneath his undershirt.

She BROKE it off with him because she just couldn't stand the hair.

I don't understand!!!! He was wonderful!!!! I even feel for him, as he was already self concious of his chest & back hair.

I don't understand.......at all!!!

To each his (or her) own, I guess.

I was blessed with minimal hair on my body,I have very fine/soft hair on my chest and belly with none on my back,My wife and I both shave our genitals the feel of our skin to skin is awsome during sex.
