Hi! I am new here and I have a question. I like to shave almost everything, just leaving a landing strip:) However, I always end up with shaving bumps and am always irritated from friction during sex( which is usually everynight) Anyone have any suggestions on how to avoid this. I don't like to go 1 day without shaving. How about waxing.... has anyone done this themselves? Thanks for any help.

Waxing HURTS!!! And I found that it leaves a lot of ingrown hairs too. I'd suggest stick to shaving but I don't know how you're gonna avoid irritation and bumps if you shave everyday.

Bumps

Go to the drug store. In the skin care section or the shaving section one you can buy a product called Bikini Zone. Expensive. About $7 for a small tube.

It will get rid of the bumps, and as long as you use it each time you shave, you will not get bumps again.

Do not use it immediately before sex. It have a little novocaine or someting in it that makes it unpleasant to have oral sex on freshly applied Bikini Zone.

Geez---can't believe no one has mentioned Magic yet! Isn't that breaking some kind of natural order or something???

Anyway---do a search for Magic on here. It is a hair remover kinda like Nair but works way better and usually doesn't irritate the skin as much.

Yes, it is a record. However, many more people here are developing an adverse effect to Magic. It can truly burn and irritate more than shaving. Plus, a patch test must be done every time you use the product, if you skin is at all sensitive.

Ok, this doesn't really apply to the same subject but I've tried to find Magic where I live and no one carries it...so I thought that Nair for the bikini line would work. It doesn't, even if you think you have balls of steel! There is a reason that the label says not to use on the genital area. I used it about 12 hrs ago and my balls are still on FIRE!!! VERY, VERY PAINFUL. Shaving is the way to go, razor nicks never hurt this bad! Hopefully, someone will learn from my juvenile mistake!

thanks for the replies

Thanks to everyone who replied. I guess I am stuck with shaving. My skin is very sensitive, so any type of cream is out. I do appreciate your help.

I have a similar problem in that creams, even those specifically designed for THOSE areas, tend to burn a bit.

I tried shaving with a razor, but always manage to cut myself.

The solution I have come up with (and it seems to be working fine) is a decent electric razor. I use a Phillips one which has 3 rotary heads. It doesn't pull, and using a gentle moisture lotion afterwards soothes any irritation and leaves everything silky smooth (or so I am reliably informed!)

Waxing does not hurt that badly. Like any other place you wax the first time can always be a bitch but soon after that you wont even know it. I get a brazlian wax done which removes all the hair and leaves about a strip. I also have sensitive skin so using creams doesn't help. Also its much cleaner...less mess!
Try it...but I recommend getting it done professional.
Good luck!

Where would one go to get a brazilian wax? I just can't imagine doing it myself, but I think I'm going to try once my stubble grows out.

Brazilian waxing is done at most larger salons and day spas. Normally, Aveda Concept Salons do it. Or just find a place does full leg waxing; if they don't do it there, they normally know where to go. I had my legs waxed, but lost my nerve at trying Bikini Wax!!!

Yikes!

Shaving every day is going to be irritating, whatever you use! Don't do it every day, you'll get razor burn. Also...Magic is EXTREMELY painful if you have sensitive skin. I tried it. Try this: (I know it sounds wacky), but use eye drops - VISINE is best, after shaving...right after. It has an ingredient that is an anti-inflammatory and won't hurt.
By the way, if you're into Magic shave powder or gel, you can find it at Wal-Mart.

Coochy Cream....

It's great!! Leaves skin smooth from shaving and seems to keep down the ingrown hairs, too!! My skin is very sensitive, too! Got my first from a toy party...then found it in large bottles at a local women's store that sells lingere, toys and other sex stuff....try it...it's wonderful!! Good luck...I'm chicken to do the Brazillian myself...

Again?

Hey Liza
What is this cream called again?
And can you use it on other parts
of your body..like arms and legs???

I will have to agree with Liza. Coochy cream is awesome! I will NOT use anything else. It makes shaving SO much easier. Plus, it leaves your skin silky smooth. I got it from a friend who sells sex toys and I will never use anything else.

I've used it to shave my legs and it was great.

I suppose there are all kinds of products that will do the job.....but why? There are many like me (see nickname) who would just as soon a woman NOT shave herself, at least not in "that" area (underarms and legs are OK). Just think, if your lover were a guy like me you wouldn't have to go through the discomforts of razor burn and "stubble".....not to mention the money that you'd save by not getting all those treatments, waxes and creams. What started all this shaving business, anyway?

trust me, it takes more than one guy to convince a girl of this, even if it's your own b/f. Waxing, shaving, making yourself 'perfect down there' as I've one heard it referred to, seems to be something you just can't get away from. Mags tell you to do it, your best friend does it, your b/f's best mate's girlfriend does it... so you do it. It sounds stupid, but waxing and all related practices is becoming the next 'waif' story, you feel like your letting yourself or someone else down if you don't do it.

But I agree. I aint worth it. Last time I got a Brazilian, the chick burned me all over my bikini line. Girls, if you love it yourself, then go for it. But I can think of better ways to spend $40 every three weeks. But girls still need to hear that they don't need to do it for guys to be attracted to them, and pay us attention where we want it without us feeling self-concious. So good on ya Muffluvr.
