Ok so i am thinking about shaveing my pussy. i have never done it so i am woundering if any of you old timers can give me a few pointers. Or should i just trim? any one got any thoughts?

thank you :)

Can't help you much with tips...But Kuddos to you!

I like the table clean when I sit down to eat :D

Well, I have a preference to trimming, but that's just me. Don't use scizzors to trim (sounds obvious, but I tried a bit my first time...it's dangerous and doesn't work  ). Those little things they sell on tv...the electric razors that trim but don't cut the skin...those work pretty well. The hair gets short enough so that it's close to being shaved, but there's still hair. Let's you get used to the idea. That and since the hair is short, you can shave it after. I've never actually shaved, but I've heard so many stories about itching and red bumps from razor burn, so maybe you might want to try magic shave, if you can get ahold of that. Not the best advice in the world, but at least it's something. :)

i shave my dick all the time, use some good cream and a really good razor(buy a brand new one)and hot water.

It's definitely something you want to keep up with if you start, because it really does itch as it grows back. I start with a mustache trimmer, cause it's small and can cut pretty close. Next, make sure you have plent of shaving cream, and shave with the grain. Going against the grain can cause red bumps and minor cuts. After you've shaved with the grain, apply more shaving cream and then go against the grain for that baby soft feeling. I personally like to leave at least a landing strip, otherwise looks toooo young.

Hope that helps! Good Luck!:)

Stop thinking about it and do just do it. You will not regret it. Neither will 'he'. Whoever 'he' is for you.

wel thank you for all your comments.

zen - there is no he.

thanks every one

Search for the topic on the boards - there are several threads that discuss shaving in detail. There are also several Magic Shave threads, if you're interested.

I would think it was obvious, but wouldn't you use a beard trimmer? :p
Well, I would've used one had I owned one. I wasn't going to go buy a beard trimmer just for that, at least at this point in my life. I wanted to try, so I got desperate and used huge scizzors...and in the shower, no less!

i don't think it itches

i don't know how this posted a million times, it kept telling me the server was busy or something, so i pressed back, and then i tried again. apparently it was working all those times.

i don't think it itches

i've been shaving for about 4 years now, and i don't think it itches much when it grows back. i have sometimes shaved w/ a razor that wasn't new enough, or tried to use bodywash instead of good cream - and that has hurt. i've had maybe 3 ingrown hairs total, they weren't that bad, i just popped them out again. i agree w/ whoever said to shave w/ the grain once, then against it.

pull your skin taught while shaving - it takes a while to get used to maneuvering down there
use a new razor (the first time) - then you can probably use it a few times.
nice thick shaving cream - i use skintimate
make sure it's exposed to hot water first to make everything softer

use deodorant on the newly shaved skin (i read that somewhere about a month ago, and i think it has worked quite nicely!) - not the gel kind though, that would be kind of gross. but yes, the deodorant helps avoid bumps, etc - and isn't irritating. i also like using baby oil, to keep things feeling really nice.

i let mine grow back periodically for a few days, just because i can get lazy - then when i shave it again it feels EXTRA smooth and yummy!

A new razor, and some coochie cream. It is specially designed for shaving that area. I use it and have never had a nick or razorburn. It also works great for men who like to shave their head. You can get it in sex shops or online shops.

When i first started shaving i used scissors to cut thru the bush. Once I got it short enough then I used a beard trimmer to get it really short. Finally I would soak ina warm bath to get my skin real tender and then shave. I shave about 1 or 2 times a week. Every time I shower or bath, it makes it easier. It feels real good and when I get sucked on then she doesnt have to worry about any annoyinghairs in the way, plus it gives me an even better sensation.

If you already posess a good razor like a Mach III then you can certainly do a lot worse than to start with that and see what you think, you might, after all, hate it.

shaving
Assuming you are starting from full growth, trim the hair down with scissors or clippers/beard trimmer so that it is short.

Have a good long soak in the bath, you'll soften the hair up. A decent shave foam might help, but you equally might find that a shave oil that doesnt foam up will let you see what you are doing (depending on how much you intend to shave, this could well be worth considering when you get closer to your bits).

Start shaving by going in the direction of the hair growth. Once you have done that you can then shave across the grain and/or against it whilst stretching the area you are shaving to get a closer shave. Once you've finished, pat dry and either wash with a moisturising soap or use some moisturiser.

Is it going to itch? the first few times yes it is, but it does get better over time.

Downsides?
1) Very short lasting, I tend to maintenance shave twice a week and would definitely shave before any action unless I had just stepped out the shower.
2) Itchy. Doesn't itch anymore, but first few weeks of having shaved was a nightmare.
3) Razor rash/5 o'clock shadow. If you've got dark hair, it always looks stubbly even when silky smooth to touch.
4) You get through blades like its no tomorrow. I'll happily scrape away at my face for weeks with a single blade, I'll use a blade maybe four-five times on my bits before I start a new one.

Magic/other hair removal cream

Dont know if there are any formulated especially for the fun zone, but Magic generally gets the lit vote (designed for black men, yada yada yada).

Read the instructions, then read them again. DO A PATCH TEST, somewhere like the inside of your forearm where the skin is soft and wont be too horrible if you do have an adverse reaction is probably best. If ok with that, repeat on a small patch near your bits to make sure.

If you are applying near your bits, be careful and dont leave any spillages to sit, I'd imagine you dont really want a chemical burn there.

Leave for the amount of time specified in the instructions (normally 5-7 minutes) and then remove. If you start to feel tingling before then, wash the stuff off ASAP, that is the first sign that it is starting to burn. I've used Magic for a while now and it still has a nasty habit of burning me now and again, fortunately never too badly.

To remove you can use a number of different methods alone or in combination. If the hair is quite long, a first stage "scrape" using a credit card or the little tool that comes with a tube of veet works pretty good. If the hair is short anyway or you want a closer finish, gently scrub the area with a flannel or sponge, I would suggest having a good rinse first to get rid of any leftover cream, you dont really want to scrub that into your skin and it should have already done its job.

I find that Magic works a treat on, to coin a phrase, sack and crack, but is not that great on my normal pubic hair. As I consistently had to go over the area between belly button and penis with a razor again to finish off I just stopped using it altogether.

Downsides
1) Its messy
2) Can be just as awkward to apply as just shaving the bloody stuff
3) Can burn you quite badly if you arent careful
4) Doesnt last much longer than shaving.
5) You might need to go over some areas again with a razor to get a smooth finish
6) Still leaves 5'oclock shadow if you have dark hair.
7) Can leave some areas, especially where the hair is quite fine (top of thighs to bits) looking like they've been shaved.

Waxing
Haven't mustered the courage to try this one myself, and as a bloke am somewhat limited in trying to find somewhere that will actually do it for me. Do know there is one lady here who waxes, but I cant for the life of me remember who, she did write an excellent description/guide on how she does it though.

my wife used to shave but then she changed to waxing about 6 months ago and reckons that its far better (i reckon its pretty cool too) -even smoother!
Good luck
