Sharpe OOC Casting Call

Alas you are right, Miss K. The Spanish civil war was where the Luftwaffe cut its teeth.

Not just the Luftwaffe. I think nearly all aspects of modern war were tested here. Blitzkrieg, bombing of civilian facilities, sea warfare (surface and submarine)... and the Italians also participated. They brought some tiny tanks that were crap, I read...

In fact, my own city was bombed by a German battleship. About two hundred dead, if I remember correctly, which was quite a bit for that time. It seems they've also been discovering air raid shelters as of late.

Civil war usually brings out the worst *not to say that war as such is a picknick* too bad people never learn though

*laughs*

Alfonso hit her and then screwed her and SHARPE doesn't know how to treat a prisoner right?

Although I suspect many soldiers would find Alfonso's methods of interrogation terrifying!

Well, Alfonso got more out of her than Sharpe did... and is not one step away from going into monkeys-throwing-crap-at-each-other with Justine. :D

*laughs* Na bra! She just threw Alfonso a bone.

Nobody got anything out of that woman that she wasn't ready to give up. If you remember, Alfonso was supposed to get some hints as to the nature of her mission - she was supposed to give him SOMETHING.

All she did was try to use him to end-around Sharpe to get her message to Wellington. Luckily Alfonso was too dutiful to be turned like that. Justine, on the other hand, got most of the material comforts she was looking for out of that exchange.

Hmmmm...

(Gay sex...? With Sean Bean as Sharpe...? Hmmmm...)

Why oh why must all my female writer/artist friends try to get me to Roleplay or Write Yaoi?

I know I said Bishi in the avatar name, but not shirtless Bishi. ;)

Also, just back from drinking so this may not be as funny in your head as it is in mine. :)

Jesus Christ!

I have to read Sense and Sensibility for friday next week, and I swear, it is the most boring piece of crap I have EVER read. I have read nearly half of it, and I do declare it is boring, senseless, and dull. And I wonder if it could possibly get WORSE.

It is like reading a bunch of old women discussing a topic out of the tabloids, from its start to its end. A goddamn torture that I don't understand why my teacher decided to inflict upon us.

I mean, Gulliver's Travels is Ok. Kubla Khan was kinda weird, but you could joke around about the author smoking pot. But although I respect Austen, this book is a never-ending string of gossiping!

Wonderful summary I must say... :D

But I guess you've never had to face the full horrors of Strindberg...

Ok, I've just reached chapter 31 of Sense and Sensibility.

My God, this book is shit. My contempt for it could not be contained in an olympic-size pool.

I know what you mean. You do find yourself wondering why people found things like this important, don't you?

Damn right I do. I mean... geeeeeeeez, if I wanted satire I could go for Gulliver's Travels.

Great posts as per usual kids...Got to re-format my hd today so wish me luck...Hopefully I'll be able to reply this afternoon.

And I'll stay well away from Austen seeing the reactions...

Ah, I see you and Steiner have started an RP about fighter aircraft.

For a long time, I've been trying to get some clear ideas for starting one set in the Ace Combat world, where it is not strange for airplanes both modern and from the Cold War to get into dog-fights. The world is mostly fictional, with countries inspired in real world ones, and the videogames are truly spectacular. Also, you can pilot most of the most famous aircraft of this age. From the "F" series (F-4, 5, 14, 15, 16, 18, 22 and variants), to the "SU" (SU 27, 32, 35 and 37), plus stand-alone models (like the A-10 or the Mir-2000) and even fictional ones.

If any of you happen to have the PS2, you could get these two:
Ace Combat 5
Ace Combat Zero

(Ace Combat Zero is the prequel to 5, but I recommend playing 5 first.)

Ok guys, sorry for not being around as of late. I have four reasons, but I wouldn't want to bore you. Suffice to say, Austen was to blame for a bit.

Ugh, I sure hope she is...

Anyway, I happen to be in the mood for starting a new RP. I was thinking of making a mecha one, but you know... I had been planning to start an Ace Combat one a long time ago. Now, I would invite you guys, but it seems you took a step forward faster. And that did inspire me to move my ass already and get it started.

Thing is, I am not sure what the setting would be. I did take part in one set in Ace Combat Zero, and I think that would be cool. That one I liked, but lost interest when it became clear the starter of the thread had decided to go Top Gun on it (bagging 60% of all the kills in only one post, his character became a demon in his F-22 but being a kind of a boy scout when in Valais... you know, that kind of roleplayer).

If not that setting, I was thinking of starting one taking place in 2012, right after the end of the war between Osea and Yuktobania (Ace Combat 5), but in the same geographical setting as Ace Combat Zero, with my character being a female war reporter (like Genette, or Thompson, AC5 and ACZ respectively).

Otherwise, it would be Ace Combat Zero.

Steiner, if you would like to take part, or just give advice, what would you suggest?

I'm up for more Ace Combatty goodness.

There's some nice friction between Osea and Belka in the south of Osea, isn't there? A mercenary unit could definitely fly along there.

Not sure about the rest, but I'd gladly research so I did. Of course a Mecha game sounds sort of nifty too.

Oh - and I totally agree. We should make it clear that there is ONE Demon Lord of the Roundtable, and he flies for another unit.

Belka is north of Osea, with Southern Belka belonging to Osea since the Belkan War. Neighbouring countries like Sapin, Ratio and Ustio seem to remain whole from back then... but this is if you prefer to play the 2012 setting. I still would have to work a bit on who the Bad Guys (tm) would be, though... I just know how it could start.

Also, I might have to drop the anchorwoman angle unless I let her be in as an NPC of sorts. After all, no news crews would be allowed to fly into battle.

As it goes, it seems like the Zero setting would be easier, with some cameos here and there. I guess the main characters would belong to the 666th squadron, but not to Galm Team specifically (I do think there were more teams... would have to look it up).
