Sharpe OOC Casting Call

Alfonso and Justine

Katamari

Would it be an idea to have Alfonso put his greedy Spanish hands on our Normand psycho-kitten? If possible we could arrange for her escape at a later stage in the thread

Sounds excellent to me. And that should make the cat-and-mouse game stop for a while (I mean, for how long can horses run, really? :D ).

Also, Sean Ben. Sexy.

I have no idea but I figured that Justine have a headstart and Alfonso's mount would be a bit weary having scaled the hill and what not.

Give the hunt 45 min - 1 hour if he pushes his horse to the limt.

Well, as General Hill would say, Bless me! You're right, m'dear. It WAS Bob Crauford who was Black Bob. Picton was something else entirely - although the two of them have rather similar reputations.

Your description of Picton is flawless, however. Crauford on the other hand would have done exactly the same, only wearing a top hat. ;)

Congratulations Mister Sharpe...and Mister Harper of course  ...on your victory... ;)

Why when the battle ends do I have to head to bed...? ...*grumbles something about her evil job*...
Hope I don't miss too much between now and the morning (for me anyway ;) )

As RSM, it's perfectly right and proper to refer to Pat as Mister Harper. The only non-comissioned officer for whom that honour applies. :)

Major's are usually stuffy enough to want to be called Major not Mister. But then Sharpe is hardly a stuffy Major - especially not with pretty girls.

On the subject of Sean Bean - he looks the part well enough, but it's REALLY jarring to have Essex Boy Sharpe speaking with a thick Yorkshire accent!

If one is to refer to the redoubtable Mr Cornwell our beloved and gallant hero is supposedly dark haired...

But I will overlook that small issue as it is Sean Bean  portraying him...

And Brit employment are evil by definition. A lady should not need to work I'd always said.

True enough, but Sean manages to capture the rough but handsome bit. He can smoulder as well as look bloody dangerous - which is what the part demands.

Personally I'd have liked to see him play Sharpe AFTER all the Boromir training that filled him out in the chest and shoulders a bit. He looks much more intimidating in the LOTR movies than he does as Sharpe.

Aw, but his look as Sharpe as he was is good enough. I wouldn't want just another buffed-up hero. I like Sharpe and Sean Bean as they are. Human, badass and sensual without overdoing any aspect.

Kinda like Pierce Brosnan, only you know... with less class and more manliness.

And on Sean Bean's topic...

Definitely agree. For all the nitpicks, Sean Bean had the look of someone who might actually headbutt you before sticking a sword through you.

That's the most important part of playing Sharpe, in my opinion. Looking rough without looking like a stupid thug.

I can only agree...Sean Bean is a damn good Sharpe and Assumpta Serna is brilliant as Teresa. The only one who deviates a bit too much is Daragh O'Malley I think...A bit too old and not as fit as one expects Harper to be but it's a minor point.

(And of course that the nice Mr D'Alembord hardly figures at all...that's a bit of a put down)

Dear Mrs Britwitch

Fantastic post as per usual...Would take a heart of stone to resist that.

Milady Mornington,

I thank you...*bows*...am just trying to keep up with the fantastic posts from you...and Steiner...and Katamari...and Longleg... ;)

Well, you're doing just fine, Brit. I must say this is one of the best groups of writers I've written with on Lit.

Perhaps Kate have to keep a piquet of her own in case Mr Sharpe gets his hands around Susannah's slender waist ;)

And I can only second Steiner

Rather up to Kate to keep Richard amused and fully occupied then, isn't it? ;)

A few posts back you said that everything wasn't about Kate and now it seems to be...Make up your mind!

Like that, is it?

Pfah. Sun-Tzu says that a general should never obsess over a single objective.

Susannah will keep herself to herself but if she should bump into the delectable Mister Sharpe in the dark somewhere...who knows what might happen... ;)

I believe I already mentioned that Fortune favours the brave! ;)

I thought you were the type of person who'd rather quote Clausewitz than the ancient Chinese.

Katamari

Justine is in the middle of it...trying to find a chance to cut the Spaniard to pieces.

(Besides sex is a good thing...especially with Mr Sharpe...but perhaps Alfonso is just as good ;) )
