Without naming names, in general what kind of music would you say gets you most horny?

No doubt......classical. But then at my age, I'm a little intolerant of music I can't understand the words to. So I'd prefer to listen to something soft, sensual. Especially when I'm making love, or writing.

Sets the mood either way.

I don't think that's weird. Personally I love music, but although it can produce lots of emotional states in me, horniness is not really high on the list.

Although I don't generally listen to that sort of thing, I once heard a woman from Bulgaria on the radio, singing some of their strange folk music, which I found really erotic. That's one of the few times that music has actually affected me in that way.

But I notice that a lot of people really do get pretty horny from certain music. I've asked this question to various poeple in RL. Opera, Heavy Metal and R&B music seem to be popular turn-ons.

After my wife and my daughters, music is the most rewarding thing in my life. It can make me happy; it can bring a tear to my eye. As I write this I am listening to a broadcast from the New York Met; 'The Trojans' by Berlioz and it is absolutely wonderful.
When I can't sleep I listen to something I really love and as the music washes over me I fall asleep.

Music can do so much for me but it has never ever made me horny!

The "wrong" music can certainly help me not get horny.

I had to vote for Soul/R&B (old school) because you left off my favorite sex music: Reggae. In particular, old school stuff. Slow and nasty dub is best.

Jazz is up there too, though.

And, did you say opera? A bunch of chunky people singing about valkyries usually get me thinking about the smell of napalm in the morning.

The posts so far indicate that music isn't really the food of love: Shakespeare was blowing out of his ass. I'm glad I never read any.

KD, I didn't expect reggae, (which I like too). Or techno, SF. Both big in Europe, of course. I think they can get you horny because they're both trancy music, to get into while under the influence.

MG, I never touch white wine or urine (not when I'm driving), so guess again. All I'll say about that drink is that it goes down very well with a little slightly salted French cheese.

But seriously, music doesn't make me horny, although I have written a slow drum'n'bass song to accompany my latest story. the music is more to illustrate the gradually diminishing sanity of the character through the story, finishing with some slow orchestration to highlight how sad the story really is. It is not meant to heighten the reader's arousal in any way.

Having said that, I wonder what it would be like to fuck to happy hardcore?
