LOL...keep going girl! What is the average age?

I'll gladly stand corrected, but I recall somewhere around 40.

I'm 28...from all I have read, that's not a sexual peak...but I feel so damn sorry for the man who shares my bed when I'm 35, 40...I wear him out NOW.

one of the benefits of younger male lovers ;)

I find the older I get, the more I want and enjoy sex. Maybe that's because everyday pressures have shifted or because I'm more comfortable with myself and my body and don't feel that I have to 'prove' anything. I don't really know but, for me, it's much better for me now than it was in my 20's.
(Look out sheath....)

The peak does not exist. From a male perspective, I laugh at how I was whilst a late teenager.

Another part of the question: Where is the knee in the curve?

You rise, you peek, you descend.

The rise can be sudden until you reach a certain level and then it contiues at a realively constant rate up and then down, and you realize there was some sort of peak.

Then after sliding down for years, the level starts droopping faster and faster, enough to put a noticable bend or knee in the curve.

God forbid that you suddenly drop in a crash!

Anyway, as I guy, I didn't notice any dramatic change until I reached mid-fourties.

I'm also wondering if the back end of the curve doesn't have some stairsteps too.

Noooooo! don't say that! I'm 41 and as sexually active as ever. I too look at my teens with detached self-pity. Please say I've got at least til 50 before the drop-off starts?

The tale of two men in their fifties: One has occasional difficulty maintaining an erection & isn't as interested in sex as he once was; the other is still ascending his sexual curve, with a desire that just gets stronger & stronger.

I think it's very individual. But then, I'm not a man.

I'm 38 and its never been as good as it is now. I am more horny, willing to explore new things and finally able to keep up with my man and then some. :p

The so-called sexual peak is, like so many things, an abstraction from large amounts of data. And, to be truly skeptical about it, I doubt how well the data was collected, organized, and analyzed. We are all individuals and our progress through life rarely matches anything like a norm. Chances are, if your sex drive is strong now, it will be relatively strong years from now. Yes, age does have an impact but we all age differently.

Another thing to bear in mind is context. I can say that an observer might look at me in one context and infer a diminished drive. In another context I sincerely doubt such an inference would be made. I'm sure the same is true of many of the people whose survey answers resulted in those statistical "norms" you read about in magazines that show up on grocery store racks.

Geeze Yank..wouldn't just have saying "It's a load of bullshit" been easier?? LOL;)

I'm not sure if it was because I went through my teens and 20's hearing I'd hit it around 30 years, but sure enough, by age 30 I was one giant raging hormone.

:D

Are you sure?? but I'd still be interested in knowing when you arrive. ;)

I'm hoping that it's more of a plateau than a peak - the latter implies a following downward slide . . I'm obviously a late starter - my sex drive took off like a rocket about 2 years ago and I have never felt better in my life. Having just passed the half century mark (2days ago woohoo!) I hope it stays just as it is for quite some time yet :D

It Varies

I've heard that stuff about sexual peak all through my life. I do not think that this is a generalization that has ANY validity. It varies for everyone. I have friends that are more sexually active then they ever were and some that do it very little.

For my wife and I it has ebbed and waned over the past 32 years. Right now I'm going through a peak and she is in somewhat of a valley, but that will change many times. As for performance, we were a lot more nimble and had a lot more stamina when we were teenagers but now we're way more knowlegeable, experimental and comfortable which is way better than when we just had the potential.

It truly is a shame that youth has to be wasted on the young.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!:rose:

When I hit 30, I thought I must have died and gone to heaven. I'm 45 now, and having the time of my life. . . I fully expect 50 to be even more fun.
