@Mtnmike, I see you as only one example of unrealistic expectations of husbands on their wives regarding sexual intimacy. And some women like Glorygirl prove that it can also happen the other way around sometimes.

It is possible, of course, that once procreation has happened, the principal aim of Mother Nature (= evolution) has been fulfilled, so no longer any need for sexual intercourse for that reason. Apparently evolution has equipped only men with a drive to to breed more than one woman, and very few women with the same kind of motivation.

Now one would hope that after 50 thousand years of homo sapiens history, women too would have learned to enjoy sex as much as men, but we should ask ourselves: could it be that this NOT happening is related maybe – to repressive societal rituals on women’s sexuality? Like: no sooner had some women learned to really enjoy sex, did men come along and burned them as “witches”.

Who are you to say that women in the history didn't actually enjoy sex just as much as men? What proof do you have for that? It is after all beneficial for the human race that women want to have sex and thus reproduce.

Besides, there are theories that it is natural for humans to change partners several times, about when kids are a few years old, meaning women would reproduce with several men during their lifetime.

I'd guess it is more a cultural issue, not that much a biological one.

I'm with you. I don't know if it's just getting their insight, their side of the story, but I'm always grateful when the ladies share, and I've developed a couple of friendships that way.

Yes, it is nice when you can get one to open up, I minored in Psychology & I like learning new things, especially dealing with the sexual aspects. Yes I had a few ladies open up to me but that was year's ago, seems they are more closed mouth about now a day's, or maybe just me lol.

I know ... strange thing is, we'd had a brief relationship many years ago before either of us were married but didn't get to the having sex bit

My marital situation was already a bit barren anyway so I'll admit to not taking much persuading

And yes, I am now being punished with the prospect of no nookie until they put me in a wooden box (unless you count regular four finger shuffles - a thumb isn't a finger but it does still help with some tasks) but I live in hope ...

Sorry for your demise, hard to believe there are ladies out there going thru it but guess just goes to show it happens to both sex's. In the same boat myself, 14 year's sexless & 8 year's with no intimacy, yea thank god for Lit !!!!

It depends on how you define a sexless marriage if I fit into the category. I've seen it defined as less than once a month/12 times a year, some as literally no sex. We've gone through stretches of less than once a month, peak at about once a week. The couple times it happened twice in one week I was over the moon.

Regardless of the definition, I have been dissatisfied with our frequency the majority of our marriage. Tried working to address it, but generally hit walls and resistance. Lit has kind of become my refuge.
