With all the talk that goes on here about sex, and how we'd all like to "do" one another, I think right this moment I'd prefer just to sit down and talk.

I don't mean on any IM, I'm reffering to actually talking one on one in the same room. Sometimes just having company can be as important as touch or affection.

I think a lot of people on Lit feel this way at times, we all have our own ways of dealing with it though. Does anyone else get as lonely as this, cause I sure do?

I wholeheartedly agree that talking is extremely important. Ummmmmm, but with the mood I'm in today, is it OK to talk and have sex at the same time? :D

I can just see this:

"Did you hear about what was going on in Washington today?"
*muffled response*

Oh don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with sex talk, I do a fair bit of it myself, and enjoy doing it. lol

The thing is there are women on here, that I would love to just chat with, not because I desire them or want there bodies, but just because they come across as nice people.

KillerMuffin's one such person, someone I'd like to talk to without even mentioning sex. There's a lot of others, but too many to list.

I totally agree. Just having someone to talk to face to face is a nice thing. Even as a married female, I too get lonely for conversation. Don't get me wrong, affection and touch rank right up there too. :)

Talking is very important and with the right person , conversation can be filled with so many interestings & amazing topics.

I am the last one to leave my house in the morning and since I don't have any one to talk to ... I usually converse with my cat. He is very sharp and lovely .. he agrees with all I have to say ... some times there is a debate but that is only some times ... :)

i've mentioned several times that i live way out in the country and have some pretty good morning conversations with the deer that feed in my front yard. there is one in particular that is a big ole smartass and always trying to start shit but the rest of them are pretty cool. i've got one cottontail that hangs around a lot but she doesn't usually have too much to say. could be she shy or maybe a spy. not sure yet.

what do you want to talk about, carl?

You know, just general things. Sometimes you start a conversation with someone, and before you know it, they enjoy some of the things you do which naturally opens up the conversation even more.

I could talk for hours if the conversation was interesting enough, I mean get me talking one on one about space for instance and you'd never shut me up. lol

Ya know the day I become doctor dolittle, I might actually start talking to animals myself, but until then I'll stick with humans. lol

Ah, but I'm talking about in the same room, not on a keyboard. That's not even challenging, you get to formulate a response on a keyboard, not so in real life.

very true, i prefer talking in person besides we get about 80% of a person's message through body language

True, and without mentioning sex, have you ever noticed how when your talking to someone in a room all alone, someone you like, you're rivetted to every word they say.

Exactly, it's though their very bodies are talking to you, and you don't want it to end.

Maybe it's just me, but I rarely keep anyone "rivetted"!

Hi skibum, long time no see. I'm sure before now someone has hung on your every word, it happens to us all.

Very true DC, but conversation isn't just for the lonely, it can inspire and educate, it can make you laugh and make you cry, but I think talking is essential to all humans.

Talking is something we take for granted, but is something that would be sorely missed if we couldn't do it anymore.

*sigh*

Friend, we all feel as you do at one time or other. The unfortunate fact is, we all live miles apart from each other [oceans apart even]. There is not much that can be done to make it possible for all people to get together and =talk= So we make do with what we have---telephones, email, post.

All true Suzi, but it doesn't mean I can't think out loud of how I'd like it to be, does it? I mean what would you talk to me about if we were in the same room together, indeed would you even like to talk to me in the same room, alone.

I'm sure I'd enjoy talking to you, but like I said there are a lot of people here I'd like to talk with. I wish distance was not an issue, and that we could all share in a good conversation one on one.

Yes, I'm not a TV program with guns or a cartoon with supernatural powers so I get all the depressing stuff. I would just love to share my day with someone for REAL and have them share there's with me completely. I post more here about the happenings in my day than I get to tell anyone.

I know what you mean LL, I think you people know more about me than my mother did. lol
